  1. Beat me to it Snacko! Just saw this. Now that is a low approach.
  2. Haha, whoooops!!!
  3. The Shuttleworth Sopwith Triplane regrettably had a bit of a prang yesterday. The good news is the pilot is ok and the aircraft is repairable, although this may take some time judging by the pictures from after the event. Who put that gate there?...
  4. USMC Harrier lands without nose gear... http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=060_1403811292
  5. Indeed. Looks mainly fabric covered as well. Possibly some random S.American contraption?
  6. OMG. http://izismile.com/2014/06/23/this_pilot_could_mow_a_lawn_with_an.html
  7. Well, apparently changes within CAA legislation are afoot, finally! From what I have read, the intention is to operate under the same rules as our friends in the Southern Hemisphere, where rides in Warbirds are not a problem. Of course, it's still going to cost you a few organs... But! At least (hopefully) it will finally be an option. I must start playing the lottery...
  8. It wouldn't hurt to enquire mate.
  9. Warbird activity to resume at my 'local' after a new and exciting venture begins... http://www.globalaviationresource.com/v2/2014/06/23/aviation-event-aero-legends-press-launch-at-headcorn/
  10. Fen and I buzzing the crap out of you all? ...
  11. He seems quite a character, and can certainly throw a warbird around
  12. Haha no worries mate
  13. I know! I liked the way they left him to tell his story himself, no overblown narration or dramatic music. Perfect. And he's still very lucid at 95!! @toad - not sure I can help but one of the other uk dogz may be able to?
  14. Recorded and just watched it due to other commitments (sorry Col!). What a fantastic programme and an incredible man. Legend is often over used, but Eric Brown truly is one.
  15. Saw this on the key publishing forums: Eric "Winkle" Brown - BBC2 Tonight Apologies if this has already been posted but "Britain's Greatest Pilot" at 2100 with Eric taking us through his life. Not to be missed.
  16. Apparently she'll be back in air in no time at all. Combination of soft ground, low rpm and wooden blades mean the merlin is unlikely to be shock loaded. Therefore it's just the considerable expense of a new set of blades… Also, the silver lining to this is that her sister Spitfire, MK912 has taken her place at DX this weekend. It's the aircraft I modelled my 1/6th scale rc model on and I believe will be it's first appearance at duxford since it left for Canada 10 years ago. Happy Chris
  17. Lucky Mr Tobul! I've always had a soft spot for his F4U. Sounds like damage was minimal, considering.
  18. I'm all over this like a rash. I try and do Shoreham every year anyway, but happy to extend the tour if funds permit in order to get a glimpse of these two beauties together!
  19. Happy Birthdays chaps! Hope you had a good one
  20. Happy Birthday Todd old bean! Hope you are well.
  21. Check out this 'cool' recovery
