I set myself the challenge yesterday to land on the Mall in a Spitfire and taxi up to Buck house for a bit of sightseeing. (Normandy Map) It was a challenge indeed, the most difficult part being keeping the bugger straight on the roll out and not clipping a wingtip on the walls! Excuse the dodgy VR screenshots!

Hi FT, not sure if anybody mentioned already, but is there any way we can move the server roll time later by one hour? Currently on a Thursday, we often finish around midnight (BST) and find ourselves doing photo passes, canyon fun and shift, but the fun gets abruptly stopped.

Well gents, after months of head scratching, software fiddling, driver updating, setting changes, etc, I think I've finally cracked it with my CTD and BSOD issue. Thanks to everyone for chipping in over the past few months with ideas, threads, articles, moral support and welcome ridicule as I've got more and more fudged off. Last Thursday, prompted by Kev's suggestion (cheers!), I ran the rig with the new pair of RAM sticks removed, leaving the original older pair. For those online at the time, you recall it was the first time since the upgrades I had a evening without DCS crash or BSOD. Today, after some testing, it appears that just by switching the locations of the old and new modules, I can run the full 64GB and the crashes are gone. CPUZ shows timings all match and I ran some RAM stress tests without a single error. After putting DCS through its paces in VR, both online and offline, all seems to be well and the smoothest it has been. More importantly, the weird resolution noise / deterioration I've experienced in VR since the upgrade has completely disappeared and I've reset the slices registry entry back to default. Finally, hopefully, I can enjoy my Thursdays again

Thanks mate! Yes I think I stumbled on a similar post somewhere else. I'll give it a try. Sounds like it's a problem that only arises when using link cables with Quest 2 and 3 and not over airlink. All fun and games!

Yes mate. I've been VR for over two years now, and the only thing I miss from pancake is the fidelity. The immersion, even on a 1080 and Rift CV1 was a game changer, for me. Appreciate it's not for everyone. Thankfully, DCS performs spectacularly in pancake on NON-SuperMegaOC cards/room heaters. 😁

Ahh cool. I see. Nicely done! Picked up my Quest 3 yesterday as well, do you use the official link cable or a third party one? The meta one seems a touch pricey.

Indeed Col. It's one game I definitely don't want to play. They say buy the best card you can afford, but even now I'm finally in the position after a couple of years saving etc. to get the top card, the principle of it feels all wrong. I suppose it boils down to measuring value in these things rather than just raw cost. And that's a personal thing. I then reflect, that despite suffering with stuttering, low resolution and rapid filling of VRAM for the last couple of years, I still bloody love flying DCS in VR right now. So, the improvement I'll see with a 4070Ti SUPER & a Quest 3 would surely be worth it. Damn DCS, why can't I be into Minecraft.
