Check your settings, if you have easy comms set, it is always the same button to bring up the menu, if you have complex comms turned on, you will have to use the actual radios in the plane to access the menu, and map those specific keys, or press those buttons in the cockpit.

I'm happy to fly Apache, Tomcat or the Viper, but maybe most sensible would be to lead the SEAD/DEAD mission in the Vipers.

@DD_Fruitbat - Have you seen this? Apache Front Seat Controls
fruitbat replied to Friar's topic in DCS Series
I had, but thanks for the heads up 👍 Now I know how to create tracks, the LMC is somewhat moot! Spent quite a lot of time after flying last night thinking about mappings and front seat flow, pretty happy with what I came up with, George eat your heart out, 8 kills in under 2 mins.... -

There's one other nice thing you can do with TACAN, you can use it to get range to a flight leader. The wingman needs to set his TACAN 63 higher than the lead. I don't know why 63 higher but it seems to be a standard across planes, same in the Hornet, A10, Harrier, Tomcat, Mirage etc. It will not give you bearing, just distance, but this is very useful for keeping good position, plus in datalink aircraft you can see the position of your wingman in the HSI. This video explains it quite well,

The A-10C is actually even more complex than the F-14 or F-16, just so you know!

Just an fyi, FC3 planes don't have a simplified flight model, they have the same standard as other modules.

DCS Stock Take 2023 and "One Hell Of A Session Mission (perhaps?)
fruitbat replied to Friar's topic in DCS Series
I don't really feel i need to list all i have, lol just assume i have🙈 I am in the preliminary stages of putting together some co-ops on the Persian gulf map though, and was planning on f-16's, f-14's and f-18's as being the flyables, as these are the most commonly owned modules i think. -
Stalingrad Campaign - Plane and Tank Sets / Numbers
fruitbat replied to Friar's topic in IL-2 Sturmovik: Great Battles Series
Depends how historical you want to be. From memory the LA 5's only appeared in large numbers from the time of the Russian counter offensive in Jan. The Fw 190, although part of the BOS Premium, never participated at Stalingrad. The first units on the eastern front were around the time of Stalingrad, but based in the central army group 150 miles or so north. If it was me, I'd ditch the 190 cause it wasn't there, and add in the LA 5 as the campaign progressed. -

In real life there were no 190's in the battle of Stalingrad. The La5 only turned up near the end to. -

You can set what type your f10 map defaults to in settings by the way. Edit, after reading Tom's post fully instead of glancing at it, see that is already covered 🙈
