Just booked my flight to Stansted. Leaving friday evening 8th and returning monday 11th just to be sure having sunday as an extra day for eventualities. Like hanging i the bar, extra day at Duxford, or visiting an intresting aero museum.

I have seen one spectular NL in the 80s when skiing high up above the polar circula, right on the border to Norway. Went out for a walk to a nearby "underground" bar, located in a swedish defence bunker from ww2. A friend worked as a skii instructor at this skii resort and he brought me to the bar that was not official to the tourist at the hotel. We were standing for minutes watching the sky with our yaws hangin open. Here is another one, same technicue but from another guy:

Fantastic surroundings. Grass flowers trees, expected to see Ferdinand The Bull sitting under an oak tree sniffing at flowers. Exhaust flames, cool, would look nice on a night mission with 20 B-17´s. Also, landing on a field seems relative smooth without this bumbing and tipping over the nose thing like it is now in IL-2. Or I´m just a lousy pilot...

I stay cool until everything is sorted. Me personally don´t care to much about shadow effects and other flashy details. For me it is the feeling of flying that matters. I think the UP thingy is close enough, but you folks that have runned this game for decades may have another opinion. But what do I know, I´m just a knoob compared to you experienced fellow mates

Ok, Dell is out then! Price...around 6-7-8k, depends what you get included in price. Seems that some of the ones I listed has gone down a lot in price. Screen big as possible. I don´t know, have to look at one irl to get a hint of what is reasonable.

I am looking for a handy laptop, but my knowlage is not up to date. Want to have one when staying longer time abroad. Found some pricy ones with, I think, pretty good memory and processor + hd, but I don´t know a thing about the graphics and also all new laptops have Windows 7 pro/home installed. My requirements are: 1. Play IL-2. 2. TeamSpeak 3. Editing pic´s 4. Store pic´s when my Memory card is full. 5. Surfing internet. No. 3, 4 and 5 I don´t think is a problem. But how does Win 7 run with TS and IL-2? Many of the pricy ones I´m looking at, using a NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M or other. Don´t know how good those gpu´s are? If they are ok playing games like IL-2?
