  1. I've found this page about the mentioned subject, thinking that it would change my mind about 64bit. But it actually proved my point.

64bit is a great idea but AT THE MOMENT there is just not enough 64bit apps and it is just too much hassle with drivers to be usable to wide audience.

  2. We’re sending this mail to remind you that Windows 7 Release candidate is available and to make sure you plan ahead for when the Beta expires on August 1, 2009. On June 1, 2009, the PC you’re using to test the Beta will begin shutting down every two hours. Windows will send you a notice a couple of weeks in advance, and that’d be the ideal time to rebuild your test PC with a non-expired version of Windows, such as the RC or Windows Vista. This will be a clean installation, so be ready to reinstall your programs and data. (Learn more about installing Windows.)

So, if you haven’t already done so, we highly recommend that you download and install the RC from one of the following sites today:

    - Developers

    - IT Pros/Microsoft Partners

    - Tech Enthusiasts/Consumers

IMPORTANT: If you are running Windows 7 Beta you’ll need to back up your data (preferably on an external device) and then do a clean install of the Windows 7 Release Candidate. After installing Windows 7, you will need to reinstall applications and restore your files. If you need help with the installation process, please see the Installation Instructions.

If you have questions or need help installing the RC, you can get help with your Windows 7 questions at http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/category/w7itpro/

There is another expiration date you need to keep in mind: Windows 7 RC will expire on 6/1/2010, and you’ll need to either upgrade to the final release of Windows 7 or a prior version of Windows before then. (We‘ll send you another reminder as this date approaches.)

Thanks again for your interest in Windows 7 and for your help in finishing this product!

Reinstalling Windows 7 is quite easy with Easy Transfer utility. just click Start and type "easy" in find box. It will back up your files and most of your account settings. Also there is Easy Transfer Report that will list all the programs u had installed.

  3. i tried to change this value but did not get any results if i lower the value. and it got slower with increased value. i'm using 1280x1024 109 nad did not try any other set. could it really be that there is a diff in speed from set to set?

  4. true, but IL2 knows how to use only one processor or one core. so the practical benefit of dual or quad core processor in IL2 is minimal. (you can improve performance by giving one core to IL2 and all other tasks to second core) You can have some benefit from OC processor but i hate the situation when something is wrong and i need to ask my self is it the OC or something else. These 1 or 2 % speed increase just does not cover the concern of eventual problems. (i'm not sure if that was understandable)

in other hand Passmark knows how to use all the capabilities of the dual and quad processors. so people with more cores have much better results.

  5. more working sw:

    Bombsight Table 2

    ESET NOD Internet security

    Freetrack

    IL2 joy control

    hw:

Logitech extreme 3D PRO and Logitech profiler

    HP DesJet 980CXi

    Kyocery Mita 3800N

it would be easier to post just SW and HW that do not work

  7. I need some help from my UK friends. If i manage to organize (actually Rico is doing all the hard work and i Salute hem for it) for my Cougar HOTAS to come to UK i need an info about the cheapest way to post it to Zagreb.

If throttle and stick are taken out of the box (very big) and packaged in a smaller box i think that the size should be 36x30x20 cm or smaller and a total weight 16-17 pounds.

If someone would be so kind and call the post office and ask how much would that cost.

    thx
