X52 Control Improved

Sez thread broken 'ere Zooly. What does it do, anyway? -
Kev, I'm on lovely all singing, all dancing Win.7 64bit. Got it loaded on Saturday night/Sunday morning. Loaded up CloD and Wow! It lives. Spent most of a very sunny Sunday fiddling with it so I'm in the doghouse wiv' 'er indoors at the moment On Easter hols now so will have another fiddle with this mod later on tonight. My main concern is my old faithful Saitek Cyborg 3d force. It seems to need a dose of Viagra. I know FF isn't supported by CloD (what a joke) but it's given my stick a vasectomy. Very impressed by CloD though. It's gonna be fantastic in a couple of years. Looking forward to FW190 and P47 'pits with this level of detail. Oh yeah, Friar; if you're reading this; I pre-ordered the bog standard boxed DVD at the beginning of March but it didn't arrive in time for the launch. Very decently UBI sent me a free code to download the game off Steam. It works fine. Last week the boxed game turned up in the post. I've tried loading it but Steam over-rides it and I can't load it. It's sitting here now. Doing nothing. Unused. Looking for a home. I've got the game and I'm happy. It's f.o.c. m8, Interested?

Couldn't launch game Replaced original Launcher.exe.config and could launch game Fruitbat is it important that the files are in the order as shown in your illustration? The modded launcher.exe.config would place itself above the raf roundel whereas the original always went under the roundel. I must be doing something wrong. No noticeable increase in games performance. But at least by replacing original Launcher.exe.config I haven't buggered my game up, er, anymore than 1C have buggered it anyway!

Trib, there is no rush yet. The longer you leave it the better CloD will be patched up. I can't see it becoming a DangerDogz standard for a long while yet. Getting SLI sorted out is one of their priorities so if you do upgrade I'm sure two GTX 470's will work well. I've been trying to run this thing on Windows XP for a week or so and it's been a complete waste of time. Last night I upgraded to Win7 64bit and it went very well and believe me I am a computer dunce To upgrade from 32 to 64 bit does mean in effect a clean install so you'll need to save everything you want to keep to dvd's or an external hard drive. I found this very helpful; http://windows.microsoft.com/upgradeadvisor Check out the videos too. I also burnt a lot of 64bit drivers for various things to dvd beforehand. I have to say, after a week of wrestling with massive graphics corruption and the game crashing constantly on XP, it runs beautifully in Win7 and really is a thing of beauty. Well worth the hassle of changing operating systems. From now on it can only get better and better. I agree not having support for FF is absurd and my Cyborg 3D force stick is now rather, um, floppy but I'm sure I'll get round it or end up buying a cheap Saitek X45 off of evilbay. I think this is another sign of a hasty release. It's all been a bit of a hassle but it's worth it and I'm getting there. I think we've all forgotten that IL2 has been around for so long now and we've all been able to max it out on our systems for two or three years that there was a time when we had to wait for the hardware to catch up with the game. CloD is now on that path too. The developers now need to patch hell out of it before it's North American release on steam or they're all heading for a financial Gulag. -
Hey Artie its a video on youtube. Cant you see the film or link? Jimbo Yeah, got it now Jim. Lol lots and lots. He'll be having trouble with his cam-chain tensioner next!

Win7 64bit arrived this morning. Got it loaded up, reinstalled CoD and lo and behold it works!!! It's also rather beautiful too. Me like, lots. But it hates Windows XP, thats for sure. -
I like motorbikes but I can't see any picture Deano. He only had one ball you know.

I could'nt get Nvidia control panel to find the game. Only the Steam Exe. How are you two managing it?
-
What operating system are you running Shadrach? Win7, Vista or XP? 32bit or 64bit?
-
Hey, you've got an anti-aliasing option! Does it really work? Also, do you think checking or not checking the epilepsy filter option makes any difference? I'm starting to think it's just a placebo. Then again after installing the patch the bloody thing won't run at all without massive graphic corruption. ' Edit; Sid, yes you have correct patch. Thats the numbers I get too.

I think JP, the above sums it up nicely. Don't bust a gut over this thing as it's nowhere near ready for release yet. One day, if they're still in business it'll be beautiful. Just not yet. By a long way. You're going to visit BadAim? Nice one. Looking forward to pictures. One day, probably when they've sorted CloD I'd like to visit you both too. Good luck my friends

Ummm.....yep. I'm having exactly the same problems as Dave on my XP system. The longest I've had it running without crashing is approx. forty minutes by setting up a single 'plane over the channel and putting it on autopilot! If I set up a dogfight on QMB it just crashes as soon as I open fire. My last option is installing Win7 64bit (cheers Jabo ) if that don't work then I'm just gonna sit it out and see what becomes of it. They've shot themselves in the foot with the Steam link up.IL-2's reputation has given them access to a much bigger market than a niche product like a flight sim would normally enjoy but like Angus has pointed out, the sh1t is really gonna hit the fan if it ain't sorted soon and it's released like this in North America!!! Has Oleg really left the building? -
I've found a regular diet of Prunes, Curry and supermarket own brand Lager help enormously in that department. Regular? Eight o'clock every morning for me

Mmmmm.....perhaps. Only problem with Swedens "socialised" medical system is this is the emergency room nurse; Would he survive her? -

~S~ Sweper, Mate, you are already getting enough free drugs from the Swedish Health Care System. You really shouldn’t be trying to “Self Medicate” yourself. Seriously, how is your recovery coming? That IS a picture of Swep's physio nurse!! I believe his recovery is coming on fine. Just suffering from a little "stiffness" when he visits his nurse! -
Postie put nothin' but bills through the letter box this morning as usual so I'm starting to feel a little left out. Checked my e-mails this afternoon and I've had one from UbiSoft apologising for the delay in the arrival of my game and giving me a free key to download the game now so I can play whilst waiting for the arrival of my dvd copy!!! Well you can't say fairer than that! Well done UbiSoft. I'm impressed. Downloading now...............................................................................................................

Wow!! Nice one Squawk. Gotta hand it to these guys And their chase plane is a clipped wing Spit! How cool is that?

Hello Arthur, Keep an eye out for a UPS van. I dont think that they are using Royal Mail. Well I wonder about this Crash. Didn't you get the CE? It comes in a nice big box, too big for postie. I've ordered the vanilla dvd. The sort of thing which normally arrives in a jiffy-bag that postie can deliver . I'm not sure if anyone has had this delivered yet? Being a tight git, I didn't pay any extra for speedy delivery. Otherwise I'd be posting now in the Male-Menopause hysteria threads over in the Ubizoo Cliffs of Dover forum. Even if it dosen't run that well, after eight years of anticipation I'm still looking forward to installing and giving it a whirl.

Dave; I'm running an almost identical system to the one you're planning to upgrade too. I'm running Win XP on an E6600 pushed to 3ghz with 4gb of ram and a 460 card with 756mb vram. Just waiting for postie to put my standard edition dvd through the door. I installed the latest nvidia beta drivers last night in anticipation, so hopefully I'll be able to give you some idea of what it runs like soon.
