  1. Interesting. I assume they only fly the 109? We should have a video on youtube ser to some stirring music.
  2. Great film that - plus I've just noticed that the archive has a collection of 'The Great Egg Race' with Professor Heinz Wolff no less!
  3. Well, I'm glad you got it working Jack. USB 3.0 seems to cause a lot of problems with USB 2.0/1.0 devices and it's not always easy to find the correct drivers - Am I right in thinking that the PC you bought did not come with a set of drivers on a disc? If so that's really poor service - I've been struggling with a similar problem with a friends laptop (he specced it and had it built for him) and it has led to the occasional 'exchange of views' with their tech people. Be wary of Driver Agent, I've heard bad things about them. If you've got everything working now, I'd uninstall that application and carry on. Windows 7 should quite happily pick up new drivers once the hardware is installed correctly.
  4. So what am I seeing at the end - Shipping? Heinkels and Ju88s? What's the significance of that? Looks really good though with the new textures.
  5. I agree entirely Chris. Have a consolation photo; Shot by me at the Duxford Spring Airshow in 2013 and coincidentally the last time I saw her fly.
  6. Mmmmmmm, Luftie On an unrelated note here's the 'farewell' video to Golden Apple's lovely F-86A which is shortly due to be dismantled before heading to it's new owner Stateside, A sad loss for Europe but at least the new owner has said that she will fly regularly from her new home.
  7. Maybe in the case of the P-51, but Sea Furies? Bearcats? I guess the point is that I'd rather see a stock, airworthy aircraft than something that is a Mustang (or whatever) in name only. It is possible to re-engineer a racer back to stock but if the projects currently underway in the States to do this are anything to go by 're-engineering' seems to mean the same as 'rebuilding from the ground up' Probably just me. Dogz weekend away Chris?
  8. It's here, Rog; http://www.dangerdogz.com/articles.html/_/pages/welcome I'm in the process of reworking it at present, but if poss, could you tell me what needs to be done to publish it on the front page? Then once it's been updated I can just upload it myself without needing to bug you.
  9. Precious Metal is the griffon powered Mustang IIRC. Good footage here, but I do wish that people wouldn't cut up warbirds in order to turn them into racers. Not an improvement over a nice, stock airframe IMO - I'm probably in the minority though!
  10. That's not a tablet Col, just a regular monitor.
  11. That is decidedly epic
  12. I sincerely hope not - it would mean the end of DDz flying!
  13. Re: 'Unlocks' - I can't see that it's a good idea personally. It hardly seems to be consistent with a level playing field in Multiplayer.

    Salute Dad

Very pleased for you Col and well done for all the detective work too.
  15. good for you FT!
  16. It should be there Sid, Colin and I reworked it a while back. I'll see if i can work out what's happening.
  17. I was thinking of a competition where we pit the punters against one of the expert ddz (or fen) and if they can shoot down the DD within, say, a minute they get a special "I shot down...." sig when they join the forum.
  18. So today Sid and I went to have a look at the Flight Sim 2014 expo at RAF Cosford - The day started well with both of us arriving in the queue 1 car apart despite starting from different places and at different times - it was almost like being organised... The show itself was a tad disappointing as there seemed to be hardly any milsim stuff going on anywhere (one rig running DCS but that was all) everything else was aircraft with no guns at all! But the place was pretty busy and this got us thinking. If we're serious about trying to get new blood in the squad, why don't we attend some of these events as a squad? This was underlined when we were talking to one of the organisers who said that as a community group, we could have a spot in the hall free gratis. So a few machines set up running DCS, CloD and IL-2 of course. Maybe even a couple of machines networked up for a little 1 vs 1 action too? There are a few of these around the country and probably elsewhere too so perhaps we should be trying to poach some of the GA and airlne simmers as well as looking around on the interwebz. - Plus we would have the opportunity to have a bit of a laugh at the Virtual DHL group - who really do seem to take things rather seriously.... Thoughts?
  19. Good grief - now THAT'S a nice sim pit! Good work ODH!
  20. On second thoughts, just looked at the list. Lancaster? Hunter? Tons of other stuff too! Definite planegasm territory.
  21. Tornados? in the Falklands? Give us the SHAR!
  22. Since the demise of RLM aviation a few years back (who were rumoured to be restoring a stuka to airworthy along with a short-nose 190 and a 109) I don't know that there's likely to be any flying examples in the future. Of course, the rumours might have been that.
  23. McAfee also set up an automated renewal thing as I found to my cost, although a spirited discussion with their customer 'service' team sorted that out. These days I use Norton Internet Security and I buy a 3 licence pack annually for about £30.
  24. GK makes a valid point. Sooner or later something will click and you'll be wondering what all the fuss was about. Or not.
