  1. I'd be inclined to reset the bios to the default by popping out the battery back up (making sure the unit is not connected to the mains first) then just connecting the SSD and DVD drive. Once that boots install windows and add a basic set of drivers (network card) and let windows sort out the updates. Then reconnect the data drives and away you go. 3. Sorry to hear this dude. Key thing to remember about win 7 is that it likes to sort the partitions itself rather than have it done separately. Whenever I do a windows reinstall I strip the partitions off the target drive and point the installer at the drive and leave the rest to windows. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  5. Whatever. Plenty of mods enhance the gaming experience rather than damage it but if he wants to fly stock IL2 then fine. Judging by the tone of the post I suspect he's just trolling for a reaction. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Lovely sounds
  7. Never mind the theory test - some sort of common sense test might be a good idea.
  8. Thanks to Nvidia's driver architecture, it should be a case of pulling the old card out and slapping in the new one as both these cards are supported by the same driver. That said, I'd download the latest version to your PC beforehand - just in case.
  9. True FT - The Merlin is a symphony by itself (not so keen on the wagerian 109 though)
  10. Thanks for that Rog - nice vids! Jabo

  12. I would so love a set of those but at $400 they're out of my price range for the time being. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. #brainfart #darnthetechnology Yep - my bad - joined 17th September - last visit 19th September. So I might still be right about the first thing.
  14. Looks like he got an answer and left, last accessed the forums back in April. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Many happy returns guys.
  16. Sweeeet. The '109 will have to wait for a sale later in the year though - I have my hands full with the other warbirds in the stable at present.
  17. "Optimise" - oh yeah - been there, done that. Never mind FT. Hopefully you haven't scorched the paintwork?
  18. Boo, can't watch this in the UK.
  19. Lordy. So apart from the big hump on the top, what differences are there between this type of aircraft and a 'stock' 747?
  20. Hi Goth, no it's not, steam.exe is a different application. Launcher.exe is the one you need. If you have a clod icon on your desktop try right-clicking it and select 'properties' - that should tell you the location of launcher.exe. You could then add the program manually to the list in the nvidia manager. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Cpu Issues

I'm with Arthur on this Col, but what are the specs of your machine at the moment? (CPU + clock speed, RAM quantities and graphics card if poss) - in between the turkey leftovers of course. Bear in mind that I was running AC with no issues on this; CPU: Intel i5 2500K - 3.7Ghz RAM: 12GB GFX: nVidia GTX580 3GB OS: Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit)
  22. I think Sweper might be agreeing with you Col

    Cpu Issues

Not really Col, as the cpu would still be sending the instructions to the sound card regardless of whether it's an on-board card or not. What's all this about another game anyway? What load issues are you getting and what's your rig got these days?
  24. I'd love to see a DCS version of that!
  25. was a bit bored today so took the rig to pieces and cleaned everything in nice, soapy water (ok, maybe not quite), installed it all back in a new case with new fans, cables & LEDs so I can see where to plug things in, re-worked my standard build iso to include a few exra programs and reinstalled the lot - takes about 30 minutes now. I'll get the controllers sorted in due course - but it's been a nice day.

At the end of next week I will be stripping my rig down, cleaning and then popping in the 780 Ti and 4k monitor :)
