Just been for a bimble around the Dogz server with Fen (finally got around to adding the 4.0 and 4.3 mods). Never seen CloD looking so good. Even managed a couple of decent landings in the Spit.
Thanks Tom

I don't play minecraft myself Delta - could never really see the attraction personally. As I understand the issue though, minecraft and other similar games rely heavily on home-grown addons and mods so there is an increased likelihood of certain groups producing mods and other bolt-ons which are really carriers for viruses and other hacks which cause havoc with the PC. Depending on where your lad is getting his minecraft downloads from you may well see an increase in this kind of activity. The clever bit is knowng what to download and what to steer clear of.
Here's my approach to modding any game.
1. NEVER be amongst the first to download a 'new' file. Let someone else do the error checking for you.
2. Always check any comments posted by previous downloaders - take these with a hefty pinch of salt and a shot of suspicion
3. Be ultra cautious of files which have an awesome name but no details from the authors.
4 Be very, very cautious if you're downloading a re-posted file. An increasingly seen tactic is to download a popular mod, hack it to add your browser hijack or whatever and then re-post - often as a 'new' or 'upgraded' version. (This is a problem being frequently reported around the Skyrim mod forums)
5. Keep your anti-virus protection up-to-date and if it reports a bad file - BELIEVE IT! Yes, false-positives do happen but less often than you might think and even if it does, so what?
Good luck persuading your lad to try any of the above - I still can't persuade a few of my forty-year old friends to keep away from the bloody download button and just think for 30 seconds before pressing it!
Hope this helps mate

Checkmods huzzah!

Apparently the sortie by an Australian P-3 Orion maritime reconnaisance aircraft to an area of the Southern Ocean where 'flotsam' was spotted in satellite photos taken on the 16th has not found any signs of the missing airliner. The RAAF have called off the search overnight, but have said that they're sending three Orions to the area at first light tomorrow. Unfortunately when considering rates of drift and currents etc any wreckage is likely to be hundreds of miles from the location in the photos. In one of the first sane moves I heard in this story the Aussies have dropped data buoys at the location to mesaure drift rates.

+1 FT
You don't mention the manufacturer of the disk Kira, but if it's a Seagate or a Maxtor d/l seatools and check the disk with that.
I like Ubuntu for data recovery as it will happily read ntfs disks and has better recovery properties than windows in case of a suspect drive. You can also run it from a memory stick so even if your boot drive goes bang you can still fire up the system and extract data from the other disks.
Good luck.

I plug mine in in the same order each time since only the bodnar board is remembered by the system, the sidewinder and the quadrant will switch depending on the order in which they're connected.

Get DT and Psycho back on board and it certainly will be!

P.S. How are you getting along Bucky?

Bucky! Huzzah!
Here's a link to Teamspeak - http://www.teamspeak.com/?page=downloads - You need the Teamspeak 3 64-bit client (it's the second option on that page)
Install '46 from the disk - that'll be version 4.07
Then patch it to 4.10.1 using this file
Then patch it to 4.11 using this file
Then apply this hotfix
Then patch to 4.11.1 - file here
Then to 4.12 - file here
Then 4.12.1 - file here
Finally 4.12.2 - file here
If you run the game now, you should see 4.12.2 as the version on the loading screen. MAKE A COPY OF THIS FOLDER IN CASE THE NEXT STEP GOES WRONG!
To add HSFX7 (the mods!) download and install this file. This is the auto updater for HSFX7, if you then run that file it will download and install the mod pack directly into your game folder.
Once this is done locate the file JSGME.exe in your game folder - run this file. JSGME is used to swtich on and off different mods. The ones you need are (In order!) HSFX history mod, EXPERT mode then (optional) Hakenkreuz Enabler & Perfect Map Textures.
If you launch the game now, it should say (on the loading screen) V4.12.2 HSFX v7.0.2 exoert. If it does, great, you're good to go, if it doesn't then hop onto TS (flying times haven't changed) and I or FT or someone will help you get sorted out.
Cheers mate

P.S. Lol this is a bit like what Crash said.

But sharky, you already ARE in.

Serious bit of kit there Jack. Do you miss it much? Or is that a really stupid question

I was wondering who'd be first - Kev wins!
More seriously - Perhaps we should consider all running the same Net speed (set in conf.ini) too. Word on the street is that a low net speed (mine was 5000 - and I don't see long range tracer, flak bursts etc etc) may result in loss of low-priority packets and therefore may mean that certain low-priority events are not seen at the client end. I've upped mine to 10000 temporarily so will report back on the effect (if any).

Fingers crossed for a good 'mustang whistle' at Legends!
Just remind me, is it the gun ports or the radiators that cause it?
-
Oooo, lovely

I for one would be happy to give it a try FT - it's not exactly a big ask.

I think there are some flight model changes

Hopefully the first of many!

Bongo and TOAD!!!
Bongo for the engine (after some prompting) and TOAD for the location.
This is in fact the 'new' lump on the front end of the Fighter Collection's two-seat Sea Fury currently resident in H2 at (my spiritual home) IWM Duxford (of course). Here's some more photos;

Funnily enough, I was wondering if someone might mention Swooperton.
People are guessing bits of this so I'll put you out of your misery.
Later.

You been at the dried frog pills again Tom? As is evidenced by the reciprocating fingle mechanism and the aggropilating swonnicles this is certainly not a self-stimulating jockstrap nor is it anywhere in Yorkshire. I do like the idea of a Museum of Victorian Items of an Insalubrious Nature though - perhaps one for a Dogz day out.
Try again old bean.
