  1. Looks like this is falling a bit flat this year but for what it's worth I've updated the first post with the artwork. Nice North Africa theme!
  2. If you have 4 memory slots you should have two or four sticks. You're probably not getting much benefit from the third stick. Slots 0 and 2 form 1 bank and 1 and 3 the other. I'd pull all the memory out and put the two 8s in slots 0 and 2. My rig memory is arranged 4-2-4-2. I've been meaning to swap the 2s for 4s for quite a while now but expensive stuff just keeps happening. Oh well. PS Don't worry about the qualified vendors guff, just get something that's branded and you'll be fine Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  3. I'd do the same. That said I'm currently running 2x2GB and 2x4GB without problems Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    Good News!

Nah, don't think so - Every time I've tried any of the VR tech I get really bad motion sickness. When I tried Oculus I had to go throw up it was that bad. Which is odd as I don't get motion sickness anywhere else. So no, not Oculus but I think a rig upgrade might be in the offing, Anyway, here's the new battery powered trackclip,

    Steering wheel

I use saitek pro flight rudder pedals courtesy of crasherooney and I'm happy with them. Fruitbat, Friar or Painless are probably your guys for wheel questions, they've all got varying types Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  6. Lol. I've already got the Spit.
  7. I'm trying this now. +++ EDIT +++ The option of setting the entire system to use the standard profile for all games causes TIR to fail on startup with a DLL error - DO NOT USE THIS OPTION!
  8. Oops - might have just bought the Kurfurst
  9. I used Opentrack with my EDtracker setup (that was what they recommended) and it seemed to work OK although the centering was a little wayward at times. That said, I have now gone back to TIR as it does just 'work' with the minimum of fiddling about - I quite understand that the frankly extortionate price tag can be off-putting though.
  10. That's a mental image I'm going to struggle to shift. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. to all my fellow DDz! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I'm hoping to have a DCS session with Fen at some point after Chrimbo as I'm hugely out of practice. You may want in? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Ha ha, Prepare to throw away everything you thought you knew about flying warbirds.
  14. It doesn't work reliably for me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. OMG - THAT IS BLOODY BRILLIANT!

    Good News!

Just found out that I'm getting a bit of a bonus this Chrimbo (due having been a good boy at work) so I've decided that a part of that will be going on replacing my TrackIR which even as I speak is on it's way here from Bristol! The Edtracker has been great and has kept me flying (although in a somewhat limited capacity) but I miss 6DOF and '46. Not content with that, having made the decision to replace the TrackIR camera I was looking at the two rather tired track clips that I have and have repaired (with duct tape and bits of the other) the better of the two and have sacrificed the remains of the second one to make a battery-powered version and it only bloody works (well the lights come on and there's no burning smell) so now I have a standard track clip and a self contained battery powered one! (I shall permit myself a small WOOT! here). I'll post some piccies if anyone's interested in doing something similar,
