  1. I see your point FT but if the solution is a new rig that could be prohibitively expensive. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  2. How about Stanstead? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  3. Ah, good, must be directions to the NAAFI Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  4. If I could make a suggestion Mick, you might be better off looking for a core 2 quadcore CPU. IIRC they have the same pinout as the core2 duo +++EDIT+++ Just checked and the core2 quads use the LGA775 connection which is the same as the core2 duo and therefore should be cross-compatible (it worked for me on my rig anyway) Look for a Q9650 or Q9660 as they were the last and fastest of the CPUs in that range. Sadly I sold mine when I bought the i5 otherwise you could have had it gratis but hopefully someone here might have a spare. They're going for less than 100 on eBay too. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/252781620466 - £70 (Q9660) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/201843881717 - £50 (Q9650) I ran CloD on a Q9660 and a GTX580 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  5. How about a section of plastic modelling card rather than metal - available in very thin sheets, is quite flexible, easy to glue etc
  6. Damn sight less than Coventry to Heacorn though Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  7. Here's an idea chaps. Seeing as we've got fairly low numbers this year how about doing something wild and crazy? I suggest that we still do Friday at DX as usual, few beers and curry in the evening and then on the Saturday (wait for it) - we don't go to DX! Instead we go to Headcorn for their BoB airshow and see some different airyplanes! Back to hotel Saturday night, more tinnies and Legends on Sunday! What do you think? Might get to see some of teichman's Hangar 11 aircraft which you'll not see at Duxford. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

  9. Me, Kev, delta Dave have rooms. Fen is a possibility but depends on baby situation. Painless and Sid also but one day/night only Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  10. Yes you are! But there's plenty of time to change your mind! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  11. For anyone still interested, Shuttleworth's DH Comet and Percival Mew Gull have been announced as attending along with the Travel Air 'Mystery Ship' which was at the show a couple of years ago.

    speedbar units

Funnily enough, now I'm using FT's conf.ini, mine's now working in units of 5 too!
  16. Yeah, I guessed that too but, being a git, I couldn't pass up the opportunity.
  17. Lancasters in CloD? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  18. As the numbers going this year are so low, I have removed the Attendees and the Accomodation threads as they seemed largely pointless.

Seems to work Rog. Do we really need something like this to appear in the 'unread' list twice though (once for this post and once for the file itelf - over-communicating no?
  20. Got markings for PX216 which was used during the development of the Sea Hornet - basically an F.1 used for the initial trials (flown by Winkle no less!) but without a hook so not flown aboard ship. Got some nice reference photos which indicate an overall silver finish - was expecting a yellow underside and a P marking but seems that standard was not applied in this case maybe because it was not an official prototype. I have two other Trumpeter 1:48 Hornet kits as well, an F.3 which will be finished in SEAC colours and a Sea Hornet which will probably built 'folded' Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  21. So as some of you know, I have a weakness for twins (stop sniggering.at the back there). Not that sort of twins, I mean of the aeroplane variety. So while the Beaufighter project still languishes in a half completed state (much like TFC's) I've been a little sidetracked by this; This is the Trumpeter 1:48 DH Hornet F.1 kit and very nice it is too. With the addition of a few PE and resin aftermarket doodads it's all gone together rather well. Just the top coat, decals, props and undercarriage to go.
  22. That's pretty much all I use anyway FT, but I'll switch off the hakenkreuz enabler for now Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

  25. Very pleased to see the P-40F back flying, The P-40C has been outside as well albeit for a engine test only AFAIK.
