  1. According to reports TOAD, the floats and one engine were salvaged shortly after the aircraft came down and before it sank after a crash landing in '42. The project is being organised by the Flyhistorisk Museum in Sola, Norway. The condition does appear to be remarkable especially given it's inverted position, My belief is it was pretty well down as the reports go on to say that the condition is due to the low oxygen content present in the water. The museum is already in possession of a BMW 312 engine and a pair of floats, which are currently being restored for this project. Jabo

And spent Saturday feeling the worse for it...lol

  5. +1 Colin. A moving interview.
  6. They'd have been disappointed if they'd manage to pinch it. That bugger charges you to get cash out. Anyhoo, Less than 30 days to go!
  7. Your field or someone else's?
  8. IWM Visitor Centre ram-raided last night for the ATM. Nothing taken but gang escaped. http://www.cambridge-news.co.uk/Home/Ram-raiders-target-Imperial-War-Museum-30052012.htm
  9. Failing that, is it damaged or just not working?
  10. Just in case further whetting of appetites are required, some great photos of SNAFU and the baby Spit at Duxford today here; http://forum.keypubl...3&postcount=982 Jabo P.S. They're not mine, I wish they were. DCW over at the Historic Aircraft forum is the (far too) talented chap with a camera.
  11. No need to apologise for that Jake, we all have times when we miss flying due to pressures of 'real' life. That sort of stuff always has to come first. The DDz have always had that approach right from when Jim started the group, along with attendance welcomed rather than expected, whether you're a relative newbie or old hand - after all there's always next Saturday (which I probably won't be able to do - lol) Jabo
  12. Fair enough
  13. I remember seeing AP's pics when you built that for him. That was very nice. I'd like the levers as well, although I'd need you to build the mechanism - I'm hopeless with that sort of thing, I've got an possible layout which I've been playing with. I'll PM it across to see what you think. A sliding one is a nice idea, but I've no room for that. I could however build a removable extension to my desk to support it. Roughly, what weight is that one you just put together? Jabo
  14. How about just building the box, then flatpack it over here for people to but their own electronics in at their leisure. Less time consuming maybe. I like those perspex levers you have on yours, are they homemade or OTS? Jabo
  15. Nooo, that's fine, I'd be delighted to have a PropNut button box, but I need to have a think about features and then get the finances in place before we go too far with this and I certainly don't want you spending time on this when you've family and thesis things to do. Those come first. Jabo
  16. Hmmm. Now then....Let me have a think about features and I'll come back to you (I've already got a BU0836X which I can send you for the guts of the thing.)
  17. Yep I'd go for that. How many controllers am i allowed in IL-2? Jabo
  18. Thanks Largie, we'd been wondering where you were. It does rather beg the question of why someone with only 15 hours on type was flying formation aerobatics (for want of a better word) and also why someone with 25,920 hrs experience having had an issue with the same manoeuvre the previous day made the same error again, except this time with catastrophic results. Judging by the pictures, I guess we're lucky they're not both dead. Jabo
  19. So...how much Prop?
  20. Swep, the fault with the DynamicDNS client is due to the fact that it's looking for an older version of .net and we uninstalled them yesterday. Unfortunately, the error does not tell us which one it needs, so... Try uninstalling .net 4 and installing .net 2 (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=19) then .net 4 and see if that solves the problem. Failing that, uninstall again and reinstall each of the .net versions in order, starting from 1.1 Jabo

  23. Jedi too? Darn.
