  1. The photography is far above combat type photography. These guys were pros, or at least trained by pros. These types of photos with this kind of clarity, proper exposure, and lighting are ultra rare for ww2. They all look like they were taken by the guys at the ww2 vintage magazine 'Air Trails' (i still have all my dad's ww2 issues) which had color photography as well. I spent a couple of hrs last ngiht and im gonna try and get ALL of them. My fav sectons so far are the RAF P-400s and the Manchester bombers. You just dont see many pix of those (lousy) planes. There was a great shot of a brit paratrooper wiht a 1928 Thompson wiht the Chicago style foregrip. Its almost like somebody went back in time with a modern Cannon or Pentax digital SLR. :!: Aviation photography is VERY difficult under the best of conditions even with modern stuff. I just wonder what kind of equipment they were using. :?:
  2. Well Ive messed with this enough. It appears the mistel FW combo is no longer availible for AI use, if it ever was. No mattter how many wps or how synched they are, they just do a loop and spin in. I think this may be the result of some unforseen patch effect that seems to pop up sometimes. I made a post about tthis on olegs page on the zoo, but i have no idea if they will fix it. Shouldnt be that hard. Kinda useless not to be able to use a plane as AI. :x
  3. yeah, that was the suggestion of one of the respnses at the zoo, but the instructions specifically mention AI mistels not being able to take off , so they must be able to be used somehow. strange how the in game coops have them taking off when they arent even capable of it. Seems somebody in Moscow wasnt in the loop. Its a pity because they would make an interesting AI target....how close can you blast one of those w/o it blowing you outta the air. Every weapon in this sim should be able to be AI, and I cant see where AI control should be that different from human control once its in the air. Ive flown them in single misns, and it wasnt that tuff. Im gonna mess with the WPs some. This has got to have an answer.
  4. Sat night a few (and i mean a few) of us on the HH server tried to fly the in game mistel coop (coop 3 i think) but it wouldnt work at all. The mistels go outta control. Heres the link to the post i made on the ubi forum. http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/ ... 2591010274 i just wondered if anyone had tried this misn or had similiar problems using the mistels. They were supposed to attack a bridge and the soviet pilots had to defend against them. Looked interesting, but I cant get it to work. :?:
  5. Vell vell vell.....Thurday's fight vass not a good time to add to my personal tally of Union Jacks on my tail......der scardy cat Englanders wouldnt show up to defend their own shipping from our screaming Stukas as we sank half the RN and most of their merchant marine. I vass only straffed once on takeoff, which missed me btw, but i panicked and messed up my G-50 on take off. By the time I vass in der air, the offending Englander vass long gone to their hiding place. If vee had known thier position, we vould haff won a great victory , not just a draw. Of course , I dont blame them. I would have run away and hidden in a cloud myself if I vass going up against such superior planes and masters of air as the axis forces had assembled that evening. I went to bed singing Lily Marlene all night. Hmmph.
  6. Nyah nyah nyah.....hate us more. I didnt even get blasted by anyone because the lousy Englanders were cowards and abandoned thier shipping to us. Id have been scared of us to if I were a lousy Englander in a Gladiator.....which Im not. Im a Kraut. :!: Stomp stomp (goose stepping away) stomp stomp.....
  7. Actually HRT is hazardous response team....at least when I was a dispatcher it was. I thought maybe she came in contact with some bizarre chemical that produced nads where there normally arent any. I think the doctor's name would make a great call sign.
  8. yeah, the safat 12.7mm was notoriously lousy, and wasnt very reliable either. One wonders why they didnt make us of the german designs like hte japanese did. just another reason to do as the great aces recomended and shoot only when the enemy fills your gunsight. This is the reason i didnt choose to fly the machis any during the fight. lousy guns. and my gunnery isnt good enough to properly use them. :!:
  9. heh heh heh........psycho is as dangerous to his own side as he is to us. I love it. Helter skelter :!:
  10. :!: Now i never even thought of using a betty for a wellington, but in that first shot i started wondering where the hell you got that wellington. Interesting similiarity. Hmmmm...............
  11. Ya, it vas und honor to fly vit all der members of der master race against those miserable little Englanders. That was pure fun. I never had flown a Stuka before, and dogfighting with those gladiators was a hoot. And I volunteer to be dropped behind the lines to eliminate der Englander known as "psycho"......he was truly a pain in my sour kraut. I would give all of you a "pour le merit" if I had any, but allied soldats took them all home with them as souvenirs.
  12. heh heh.....
  13. Cool. Im for that big time.............especially if psycho is on the opposite side.... I want vengance............GRRRR. (In Dennis Hopper's "Speed" voice) IM COMIN FOR YA PSYCHO!!!!! Man that was a rush, even if he did clobber me 3 times on the ground in a row. How bout making it 4 misns this time? It just went too fast last time. That was great.
  14. Man I just cant believe this. Kinda makes me wonder why it was even manditory that the new BoB series even needs a new graphics engine. This is incredible.
  15. man i cant believe the detail. I think the old il2 engine has alot of life in it yet. Soldiers are somehting we really need in IL2. We had them in fighters anthology, and they even moved and shot...but werent actually animated.
  16. yeah, good shootin pilgrim.
  17. I wonder how I and my moped would do.....YAAHAHAAAHAHH! or the Johny Quest version.......AAAIIIIEEEEEE! (git im Bandit!). Of course if it were you BeeboP, the car would have approached from the front and gone THRU the engine. Would be a tad more dramatic. I laughed my arse off when he spoke of the service they provided.
  18. I wonder if you could use that face on a pilot....hmmm.
  19. You could always use the firm fo "Dewey, Cheathem, and Howe," Curly Shyster head counsel. I thought about changing mine to Elvis, but I doubt anyone actually remembers Sonny Crockett's Aligator. They'd all associate me with "the King"......which is kinda understandable, but I cant move my ass that fast.....anymore. If you change it at the Zoo, you will be expected to post totally inane moronic BS that has nothing to do wiht air combat or aircraft in general, and then you will have to ask everybody if its all fuckin right for you to stay around etc. , and convert to a total F-ing moron like those goofballs that are taking that place over it seems. or here's one.......What's the best army plane ever?
  20. YeaH, I love talking to those guys.....used to alot back in the 80s and 90s when i could afford to travel the country to airshows. There were several americans who stayed in the RAF after the US entered the war.
  21. Nice shots. Little digitals make good photos, they just dont usually have very powerful zoom lenses. If i may recomend, your pix would be easier to view if you could resize them in a photo program, down to around 100kb or less. Most any such programs have that capability, usually listed under the image collum. Took me yrs to discover that.... :? I bet the noise was totally cool.
  22. well, 40 min afterwards anyway. I posted this on the Ubi zoo (and it IS a F-ing zoo these days) and thought youse guys would find this interesting. The pilot must've learned how to fly in sims, because I dont think they have density altitude effects modeled (or do any?). It was 103 F, and this guys just falls outta the air. The dieties who watch over morons must've been alert this day. They still havent found the engagement ring. Ive no doubt they will all be on Oprah, or some documentary about how dangerous general aviation is. http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums?a=tpc& ... 1131006564
  23. Yeah, I flew with this wackjob back in the D-day tournament....he's merrily shooting up the allied field, yelling for help etc, and i make the bizarre mistake of joining him. He kinda forgot to tell me about the hideous flak trap, and I got there about the time all the allied pilots that he'd pissed were gettting airborne-so naturally they jump MY ass. He makes it but i keep getting blown outta the air by pissed off allied flyers. Man this guy has some luck.
  24. well i tried it out for free, and apparently i dont have as many problems as i thought (i had norton firewall in addition to Kiero and didnt even know it was activated apparently). however, i still need some spyware protection. Is this program worth it? or should i get somethning else? :?:
  25. Beebops reaction was almost as good as the jokes. The second one is most appropriate...heh heh. But i can relate to the blonde one a bit more.
