  1. ~S~ Todd M8, I think fire services all over the world have always had a soft spot for leather ! I've got an old yellow cork helmet and a fiberglass red Gallet helmet in the loft. I can hear Ebay calling..... Cheers, Mick.
  2. ~S~ Narrow minded Englishmen, The commentary at Duxford over the last two years has been very informative and gave a great insight into just how wrong the rest of the world is about WWII aviation history ! I feel that you people are proving how anti French you are just for the sake of it. It's time to give the man a break and actually listen to what he has to say. ~S~ De Gaulle. (Sent from my: I pod talkpad dippy-dop)
  3. ~S~ OT, OK here goes.................."Timeless" (what a babe !!!) ~S~ Shameless
  4. ~S~ Chaps, Having spoken to Nick on the telephunken at length yesterday I plan to go in with him as originally arranged to keep him company. HOWEVER if "my" ticket can be given to a vet at this late hour then he/she can keep Nick company no problem. I would just view from outside with Kev and Tom. ~S~ P.
  5. ~S~ Kelly M8, Yes indeed it makes you miss Jim for sure. That photo shows an elegant old lady (the Spitfire), two distinguished and accomplished old gentlemen and YOU ! Still it's hard to appreciate the good without the bad Seriously, will I be buying you a beer at Duxford this year then M8 ? ~S~ Mick.
  6. ~S~ Ovy M8, I must admit I got a little emotional watching that first film but then like Snacko I also watched the 7th anniversary film and ended up laughing at FT's comment . "Stock DDz" Cheers, P.
  7. ~S~ Chaps, Superb selection of clips! I loved watching the pilot of the "fw190" check out his clean, (with a bit of flap) and fully dirty stall speeds. Thanks for sharing. ~S~ P.
  8. ~S~ Boyz, My M8 Dave put this pic together for us four "Reno amigos". That of course is Scott from Canada ( last time you saw him he was kind of ) What do you think.......... ~S~ Scaredshitless
  9. ~S~ Maior, Nice to see you here. Beware guys, this chap may be new to IL2 but after having spoken to him for a while on TS I think he might just be a very quick learner ! We usually fly on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at around the same time as BFS at JO. Anything you need to know just post the question here. ~S~ Painless
  10. Hey Kelly, Fantastic news M8 ! Please say hello from me if you get the chance and say I miss his singing ! Cheers, Mick.
  11. ~S~ Colin old chap, Looks like you had a blast M8, did the old bird creak and grown when you did the barrel roll ? The oldest Tiger Moth ay, were you at all scared ? LOL Great that you had a top pilot, did you discuss how it differed from the FW 190 ?? LOL Nice pics BTW ~S~ P.
  12. ~S~ Swooper M8, So is it used for anything now ? ~S~ P.
  13. ~S~ Largie, Thanks for that M8, an interesting read for sure. The disparity of "hours on type" (15 vs 1035) probably had almost as much to do with the collision as nationality ! To be fair to the French gentleman, in my experience Mustangs DO tend to fall out of the sky on the odd occasion ~S~ Painless. PS: When are you going to get yourself back up into the virtual skies again ?
  14. ~S~ Kevinsky, Juicy ! LOL ~S~ P.
  15. ~S~ Fruity, Makes you proud to be British................well it would have done 71 years ago A JU 90 ? ~S~ P.
  16. ~S~ Arthur, Jedi, Bloody shame you boyz can't make it. I don't suppose a compromise would be possible, you know like one evening and one day perhaps ? We are watching the airshow Saturday and Sunday remember You've probably already thought of that right ? ~S~ Painless.
  17. ~S~ Gec M8, Beautiful but awfully small for 6 billion+ people ! Thanks for a very humbling 2 1/2 minutes. ~S~ P.
  18. ~S~ Chaps, Just in case the service is of any use to you in the future.......the replacement left aileron and actuators arrived today free of charge from Revell ! It took 7 weeks but they did warn me about that. Dam good show ! ~S~ P.
  19. ~S~ Colin, That information pretty much ties up with everything else we have heard and read since September. It's the often seen disaster scenario where by a long list of small errors add up to a big bugger ! Thanks. Mick.
  20. ~S~ Zooly old bean, I hope you will miss us as much as we will miss you M8 Bloody shame you and your good lady can't make it this year. Best of luck getting things sorted. ~S~ Painless. WTF !!! I am in tears here . ~S~ Speechless.

~S~ Crash, Look M8, you already have a flashy Audi TT so don't start getting all flashy with your landings !! LOL Watch out Skid , he's after your benchmark ~S~ Brainless.

~S~ Chaps, Crash was the man alright !! How the hell did you keep that thing high enough to miss all of us and the trees? LOL ~S~ P.
  24. ~S~ Isn't that the same as the engine we saw at RENO in the "Super Corsair" Skid ? ~S~ P.
  25. Painless

    Success!

~S~ Skidders, WTG M8 now that will take some beating! Remember folks, Skid was actually trying to get as close to the 88 as possible, it was not luck ! ~S~ P.
