My kids gave me a i/48th kit for christmas. Its been about 30 years since I last done these so had to get all the gear and paint etc. Its not as good as I hoped, the paint went on a bit thick and some of the decals arnt quite right but not bad for a first attempt. The kit was a revell spitfire IX / XVI. I built the XVI version, which was the american built merlin version of the IX, and had planned to get decal sets to mark it up as 603 city of edinburgh squadron. 603 and 602 flew these at the end of the war in operation big ben against the V2 sites in holland and as TAF. Unfortunatly I was not quite happy with the paint so decided to just built it from the box as one of the Polish squadrons. I built it with only slight weathering and have to thank Painless for his encouragement and waldo for the refrences. I have learnt a few leasons and plan to get a Me109 or FW 190 next to complement this one- Ill thin the paint a lot more and get a dedicated decal set as I think this will make it better. anyway here it is

unzip it if its a zip file and put it into the records folder. then go to game and select play tack and use the arrow to scroll down and select the one you want and then hit play

Is ukded 3 online now? I havnt seen an announcement and thought only server supporters could fly on it ?

For my sins I support Falkirk Fc, my local team. he must be based in london then - no 3 hr commutes here. Yes you can still get snobbery and class distinction in some areas. Also some folk look down on people in the service industries. I would say that it isnt as bad as the steriotypes and has decreased over the years but still exists.

there are quite a few regional accents in Scotland mate - mine is central - a mix of glaswegian and edinburgheese. Folk have different words for ordinery things like soda - Dazza will know what Im talking about, he'll get the broad glaswegian accent where he works. the lowlands around the borders is softer and the highlands are a seriese of grunts and squeeks

do you use the switcher or do you have 2 installs - if you have 2 installs then copy your config.ini and user folder from 46 into il2fb. you will want to back up files from il2fb to somewhere safe in case it goes very tits up I dont use the switcher so cant help with that mate

hi mate - your spec is low end for the game - dont know how much you wish to upgrade or are able to but the obvious culprit is your processor - If possible get this up to 2.4 or above. your motherboard manual will tell you what is possible. your graphics card is low end and Im surprised you can handle a resolution of 1600 x 1200 (32 bit) - do you have a flat panel that you have to run this high ? If you have a normal crt then reduce this to 1024* 768, this will help and make sure you are only running 2* AA and 2*AF in windows display properties. you could also try running your sound in basic as this will help run dxdiag - click sound tab and move slider to left until basic shows, save and exit. hope this helps Dave

I have had problems with flying online since going to 4.08. It was more noticable on warclouds than our co-ops but last night was pretty bad especially on one of the ardennes maps when I was low dogfighting spits in a 109 over flak. as it seems to be the uk guys that noticed it then it might have been UK network fault as I have to admit I havnt seen it as bad before on jims server and the last SEOW was smooth for me until I got over Caen when it went tits up. as soon as I moved east it was better and even with the heavy flak as I attacked ground targets I didnt notice any problems.

nice find mate- everyone is different but I think that 4.08 is more harder hitting so convergencies are coming down - Im still playing but I am at 200 for most now. 150 for .303 and slow ROF guns

I have read a few biographies and my feelings are that the luftwaffe developed a highly sucessful tactical way of fighting with their fighters. The experten were the flight leader and attacker and the other 3 in the flight looked after his back. In the eastern front and desert they would often fly with 2 or 3 staggered flights in a wing , the lower being the scoring wing. Each theatre dictated the height with the desert and eastern front being low whereas the western front was high. They also had to chose their engagements carefully as by 1942 they were outnumbered on all fronts and the experten started to get whittled down by attrition, to be replaced by inexperienced pilots. However there is strong evidence that the herp warship of richthoven was strong, so many wanted to emulate him and the desire for kills that led to points and decorations made many to regard this as their prime objective and not the mission or strategic goals. The russian pilots are very scathing of the german tactics, they never left their bombers or il2s and often found that the germans fighters would if they were threatened. The german airforce of course made a more determined stand when defending their homeland skies against the allied bomber forces . All accounts are that the attacks on the bombing boxes protected by the long range fighter were regarded as suicide and it was only a matter of time before the luftwaffe was effectivly wiped out in the west. luftwaffe aces by micheal spink and gallands biography " the first and the Last " and steinhoffs "messchersmitts over sicily"

I would recommend the tir4 or the tir3 and get the vector expansion for tir3. TIR 4 is better - all depends on what you can afford mate.
