  1. @ B16enk would it have any agp drivers as its a mobile chipset ? from your posts with the error message and with graphics crashing , it might be a graphics an overheat problem or a memory problem - an extra gig of memory might help if possible. when does your machine crash?
  2. here is what i have done the last 2 times 1) buy computer buyer mag - it has decent reviews and loads of adverts for sellers, you may find something you like http://www.computerbuyer.co.uk/ e.g. http://www.computerbuyer.co.uk/reviews/242691/pc-specialist-apollo-q8200-gtx.html this will give you a good idea of wha tyou get for should expect for your money 2) make a wish list of components - what motherboard, processor, graphics, memory , monitor I want 3) revise wish list to make it realistic with budget
  3. You may have corrupted the MBR so cant boot - you can recover a restore point from dos or from the recovery console - the recovery console will also enable you to run CHDSK and if you are brave FIXMBR - but be very careful with this as point it to the wrong place and you will not be able to boot into anything anyway here is the dos way Boot into safe mode/Log on with Admin Privileges/ Type: %systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe. Then press enter. from the recovery console http://www.icompute.info/System_restore_from_xp_cd.htm some background from microsoft http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307654 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314058 I havnt done this so perhaps wait until someone with more experience gets back on this- all this is just info from sites I use
  4. A recovery to a known safe point might be easiest but if you want to investigate and have the time then you can break it down 1) hardware Take out everything apart from motherboard, processor, memory, graphics card, harddrive with boot sector, keyboard and mouse and see if will boot
  5. Just moved PC to a new desk and decided to clean out the insides - it was disgusting and full of dust - so just a reminder that its a good time to check your grear and give it a spring clean. Remember to take precautions against static I use a hairdrier set to cool to blow out the worst and then a natural bristle brush ( NOT NYLON !!!!!! ) to clean tricky areas
  6. Its my belief that if you can suceed in a Fw then you will do well in most planes- it teaches you a lot about the importance of energy in a fight
  7. Glad to help. Good to see another FW convert - it is a hard plane to master but deadly when used right S
  8. Hi - I fly the FW a lot and I posted some materiel on the FW 190 in the vault a while ago which might be of interest http://www.dangerdogz.com/K9Vault/p13_sectionid/5/p13_fileid/233 http://www.dangerdogz.com/K9Vault/p13_sectionid/5/p13_fileid/228 For ACM then see here http://www.dangerdogz.com/K9Vault/p13_sectionid/5/p13_fileid/223 and go to SIMHQ , air and look for library, then look for articles by Andy Bush which describe scissors and rolling scissors, they are the best Iv found. http://www.simhq.com/_air/acc_library.html In general I have found that in 99% of the times if you are low and slow in a FW with a plane on your 6 then you will be shot down, it does not pick up speed well so you cant escape, all the bandit has to do is sit there and wait and he will get the shots he needs. Its only advantage in a dogfight is in its roll rate so thats why its good in scissors. You have 2 options in the scissors depending on what you want the outcome. If you wish to just try to survive and escape keep the roll as flat as possible, you use rolling scissors like gun jinks (e.g. sharp rudder or stick inputs) to put off his aim, while trying to extend towards friendlies. If you want to try to make the opponent overshoot then do wider rolls as it looses speed at any AoA
  9. Glad hes back safe - S delta7

  11. Rattler I tried this with a silk coat on my dora but prefer the finish with future - the flash used for the P-47 photo accentuates the shine
  12. thanks for the replies guys- Toner Im doing well , hope you are also mate . rattler - the p-47 was the best engineered kit Iv tried - many parts just clicked into place - the only hassle was the decals around the open rads on the fuselague BTW check out this for a zero , its going to be my next one as well http://www.hyperscale.com/2008/reviews/ ... ewbg_1.htm S delta7

  17. thanks for the replies - @ painless - it is modled with the gh radar - in the later stages of the war they flew in daylight so maybe wing leader markings for formation? @ coldgambler- once I work out my airbrush then Ill weather it a bit- there is a panel highlighter as well I might use - http://www.promodeller.com/promodellers ... ring-wash/ but I dont want to attempt this until Im ready S dave
  18. @ painless - the yellow is not striped on the kit markings so Im just going to leave it as it is mate .
