    Re: anti spyware

Ouch, I use Ghost and it's pretty good but... unfortunately there is a but. I have yet to do a full restore with the last two versions, but then I didn't use the recovery bootable CD. This is an excellent program, trialware for 30 days but you can restore an image indefinitely. Also if you were so minded you can uninstall and re-install for the clock to start another 30 days! http://www.drivesnapshot.de/en/

I've moved the thread for now, until I can test it in a virtual machine. Andrew: Follow the instructions after this bit: 'Automated Removal Instructions for XP Antispyware 2009 using Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware:'

Which links where Andrew? If they are infected with malware as it appears, and it's on this forum I want to remove it pronto. If from another site....
  4. Pretty sure it's a spoof (the clue is at the end ) Boom.wmv

  6. Colin. Check your PMs I reset your email ages ago and pm'd you (I know you will not have got the email yet though... but did think you'd see the new message alert! If it is for hosting photos then I would recommend a host with php and MySQL support, and I'd use PixelPost as the site framework. There are others but that is the only one I have so far found that doesn't generate multiple urls for each image, which is important because stats can be a nightmare if you have three or four download links per image. It has a good range of plugins too, and a good variety of templates are available.
  7. Firewire is used often by Digital Video cameras and audio devices, although later models have USB 2 which is quicker than firewire (IEEE 1394a) which has a top speed of 400Mbs (1394b has a speed of 800Mbs that leaves usb2 standing @ 480Mbs however neither XP nor Vista support 1394b unlike Macs). I have a printer and an external hard drive that have firewire connections, but I use USB2 Incidentally FireWire is the Apple name for it....
  8. What do you need web hosting for Colin? How much space do you need, and how much monthly bandwidth? Do you need php and MySQL too? I have a reseller package and can easily create a package for you
  9. Hi Colin. Yes it can be reset, ping a reply here if you still need it and I'll do the job for you and pm the new password to you too. @ Snacko, yes we can set up an email address for you if you request

Hi Toad M8. It only works with images that are directly attached, not linked from another site (like PhotoBucket). Essentially what you do is this: Compose your message, and use the 'Link Inline Image..' drop down to insert the code for your image where you want it to appear. Then you attach the images in the order in which you have referenced them. Your post will look like this before you post it: First off not all machines are capable of doing this with any quality at all. Well you go into your game, and setup your Radio in Hardware setup to look like this. [attachthumb=#] I use Press to talk that way I can hold button a second before I speak, Voice activated is a bit delayed. Then host a game, you have to do this online. No big deal, no one needs to join your game for you to play. Then open your chat box, and make it look like this, [attachthumb=#] Then just talk as you fly, and instruct. I've been doing this for years with my training, and instructing others. Sort of like this. http://home.mchsi.com/~t_o_a_d/V228PT_TOAD_P39_G4.zip Enjoy let me know how it works for ya. 12. 1.5 Gb is ample. Money would be best spent, if it has to be spent, on an improved GPU but.... You will be spending on AGP technology Same goes with spending on RAM, that will again be old money. If it were me I would look at getting my mitts on a newer AGP offering, however nVidia AGP parts seem to be in short supply. Try these ATI cards from OverClockers: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/productli ... &subid=403 Or this single nVidia offering from Scan: (geforce ECS 7300GT 512mb) http://scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=789603 All well within your budget (except the 3850 pro @ OverClockers ). I recently switched from nVidia back to ATI and I can't say I noticed any difference in quality (performance yes but I'd expect that with an upgrade).
  13. For potential future questions: USB2 as an extension for USB1 is good. USB1 as an extension for USB2 is also usually ok, I have used USB1 cables for high demand USB2 devices with no obvious sign of performance issue. Kind of makes me wonder if USB2 cables are a marketing ploy....a good USB1 cable is just as capable of carrying the signal without degradation. However if it is a very long cable, as in 2 or 3 metres, then the outcome may very well be different!
  14. Hi. I don't know what has occurred here, I reckon one of the organisers sent an email from these forums to a group of members. Somehow your address got included in the list.. The from field would have my personal email address, as a means of making contact should an issue arise, but it shouldn't appear as though it came from me. So sorry Bulau, this event is a closed event. However the DangerDogz do have open and inter-squad events, so please don't think badly of us
  15. Servers (as in IBM/Dell etc) tend to be very noisy systems - I should know we have several thousand of them in the building I work in! Toad's advice is excellent, and I personally would look into getting a reasonable spec desktop to do the server role. I have toyed with the idea of getting a co-location server, to serve dual duty of game server and web server. But at £50 p.m. I cannot yet justify the expense. Rnzoli's automatic dedicated co-op server was a great idea, now that would be sweet to have for the DDs..
  16. One of the vagaries of wireless in my experience. I have a laptop (A PC World Emachines cheapy) that does the same with my Linksys router. Are you using windows to manage the adapter, or are you using proprietary software - the Linksys utility? I removed the Linksys utility on a desktop with the same issue, and let Windows manage the connection. Been as good as gold since. Same deal on the Laptop with it's built-in adapter, removed the software utility and it now connects first time after pressing the WLAN on button.
  17. Oh...I must have misheard that originally, a Banker eh? (only Joking BG )
  18. 6 Dozen Old Farts... that'll be the DDs then.

This utility looks neat: http://www.bitsum.com/prolasso.php Uses very few resources, and you can configure it to ignore (say) IL2*.exe and it will automatically lower the priority of any other process. And it's free All said the first link I posted above is a great utility, and would be the one I choose.
  22. Fixed. It was my blonde moment not yours! Sorry M8
  23. Dodgy mouse, Microsoft mice (the basic ones) are liable to do this in my experience. I threw away two that were displaying identical behaviour (actually I placed a very powerful mouse trap on the floor with a bit of cheese as bait as they had frustrated me so much!
