  1. There is some really good information coming together here, it would be nice to see it encapsulated into a more formal guide (along the lines of the Switcher install guide I did as a web page) and as we have the technology, and space awaiting, it would be a shame to not do it.
  2. http://youtubedownload.altervista.org/ You can download from YouTube with that. Then you can convert to a variety of formats, including Windows Media. It will convert previously downloaded .flv files too.
  3. You should be able to view his profile M8, or look him up on: http://www.dangerdogz.com/forums/index.php?action=googlemap Where you will see he is firmly entrenched in 'the old country'.
  4. It is good design, keeps the searcher looking and makes them want to see what else the site has to offer, and to get to it via a typo is cool. Plus the 3D effect is neat as well.
  5. ...404 page there is.. http://bluedaniel.com/404.shtml Call me strange, but that is one 404 'Page Not Found' I might visit again..
  6. Nah. We're much more subtle than that.. For our own entertainment we converse in secret and agree on a date, then we gang up on all the newbies out of the blue on said date. Poor bastards never know what hit them, and it sorts the wheat from the chaff quite nicely. Of course we would never hint, let alone admit, that we do this otherwise the surprise would be lost. Wait a minute.. your not one of the new guys are you?
  7. I'll have to check that out, I remember well when AA first came out and how awesome it was, and free! Is it still free to play?
  8. So.... Who got WaW then? And do you enjoy the Zombie mode as much as I do? A pretty good evolution of the genre IMHO, short lived and in no way shape or form a competitor for IL2, but on those rare quiet evenings when a little gratuitous violence is the medicine of the day.. I play the Zombie mode with my 13 yr old (I know what a shocking parent I am) and it is really good fun.
  9. That is a sweet setup you have there M8. I used to know what were the best nVidia drivers were, but I switched to ATi, having said that I rarely had issues using the latest offerings from nVidia unlike ATI. The screen is a little easier, I would think LCD is the better choice due to faster refresh and AFAIK there are no plasma monitors on the market yet, but I have been wrong before!
  10. Not any more they ain't..

    Hi All

Hi and welcome to the pound Doogerie Interesting: What are you studying at Uni, and what is your Web developer skill set? I find myself holding the pound together alone, lots of shoe laces and gaffer tape here and there, generously supported by a few members who have made voluntary donations, and the possibility of a tame ear to bounce ideas off always interests me.
  12. Reseating the RAM may be the charm Worth a test.. Try running XP from current install, it may be OK and a few minutes testing will tell you, before you resort to the re-install/repair hammer.
  13. In a word. Memtest86 http://www.memtest86.com/download.html You want the ISO, burn to CD then test RAM, this sounds like faulty RAM.
  14. Bugger. Sounds like the IO messages presaged disk corruption (not surprising if volts had dropped so low). Do you have an XP install disk? If so you will need to run a repair, you may find the first stage repair is sufficient if you can run a chkdsk c: /f This you will do via the second option after setup starts by pressing 'R' If that fails you then need to do an in-place re-install, again boot from CD this time at the setup screen press enter, accept license by pressing F8, then on next screen press 'R'. This will re-install XP to the CD version (so possibly no service packs). Once booted run windows update then start to wory about what programs may need to be re-installed.
  15. This topic has been moved to Private Forum - DD & HH Only. it just may save someone's marriage doing that [iurl]http://www.dangerdogz.com/forums/index.php?topic=7114.0[/iurl]
  16. A bit like what we do in IL2 then....
  17. I haven't re-installed my 7 beta yet, don't know when that expires (I have the TechNet edition) but what I did see of it it was nice. This Vista seems to be running well so far...
  18. These indeed are usually HDD related, however the voltage drops could indicate the IO issues are triggered by insufficient voltage to power the chipset.
  19. Aye happen that may be so, but the only drivers I'm using are ATI.. err.. OK enough said! Well I'll see how Vista copes, can't believe I am having to resort to running Vista
  20. And ignore the fact that it is a 64bit system and as such should run a 64bit OS, no where in the sales or tech blurb does it say 'not compatible with XP64'. You get my drift, a blase comment like that from DFI does not engender good customer relations, and one that is clearly wrong and ignores the heritage of XP64 I found to be insulting. But then I am pissed off that this has taken DFI 8 days to come to this poxy 'nothing to do with us so tough shit' response.
  21. Well I don't think I will be buying DFI again.
  22. Any critical errors (red symbol beside them) especially anything disk related. Another possibility is RAM, Memtest86 is worth running to check it, and perhaps a reseat. As it is an ASUS board and you are using AsusProbe (always makes me smile that..err that ain't going to read back right is it JP?) you can set it to log the voltages, if you get a significant drop then you know it is PSU.
  23. Have a look in the event log too, system pages, to see if Windows is trapping an error for you (start > run and enter 'eventvwr' then hit return). 300W I would think could be a little on the light side unless it is a good quality PSU..
  24. Impressive! At first I thought it was your rig Snacko!!
  25. Nope, if you do that the images are hosted on our server. It is only when using the img tags and explicitly (excuse pun) linking off-site.
