BluBear
First reported on the keypublishing forum: "A report in this morning from Ben Gilbert that SX336 made a wheels up landing at Bondues near Lille, France, yesteday 2nd July. Pilot is unhurt. Damage minimal and about as light as it can get in these circumstances. - Mark" Original Post Here This is a real shame, but glad to hear the pilot (believed to be Anna Walker) was unhurt. By the looks of the photos, the landing was absolutely text book and hopefully the aircraft will be repaired soon. This unique aircraft is a regular to Duxford and would have been at Flying Legends next weekend, so that is also a shame. The full landing sequence was captured on camera. 2. Administrators Jabo Posted July 4, 2011 2. Administrators Share Posted July 4, 2011 Damn, thats a real shame, that seafire was very nice. ~S~ to Anna though. She's done a lovely job of getting that down with minimal damage. I thought initially engine failure, but it looks like it was under power from the pics. Not hydraulics either cos she'd got the flaps down. Hmm. I assume that's the Kennet aviation example Chris? Jabo
BluBear
That's the one mate. Hopefully with a bit of TLC (and a wad of cash!) she'll be up in no time.
BadAim
Looks like the prop is wood. If we break out our pocket knives and start a whittlin' we could knock out a new set of blades in no time!
2. Administrators Jabo Posted July 4, 2011 2. Administrators Share Posted July 4, 2011 Yep, she does have a wooden prop BA - It helps prevent shock loading the engine in just such a case as this. Jabo
