T_O_A_D
I just rescued a AMD 64 on a micro gigabyte board from works trash heap. Spent today setting it up for my TV it has on-board with HDMI. It works a treat, just watch netflix "WW2in HD" Also put my Web cam on it so I can sit in the living room and skype with the wife and others. It was in a Lian-li PC-62 all aluminum case too. (remember what those things used to cost?) Only thing missing is the chords to hook up the front USB. I put in an old IDE HD and a stick of used 2 gig Ram I have from the Intel board. Cleaned it all up, and stuck in some old LED fans. Also found an IDE DVD burner in the pile to put in it. This is how I found it. I took out the Creative control panel and sound card. I couldn't get its sound to go to the TV and let the TV control the volume. So I used the onboard/HDMI combination. Here it is put together to use. I tried to take one of it with the house lights off, but it just won't work out. I guess you'll just have to visit LOL Quality is a bit weak any whay using my phone. My Camera broke recently Too bad I didn't fond one of those too.
Snacko
Wow, nice find! It's amazing what people will throw away. I had an 80 year old lady friend who's pc was running slow. I told her she should just take the disks and pc into Best Buy and have them reinstall everything. All she did was surf the net and play solitare. But the guy at the store sold her a brand new pc!! Probably threw her old one in the trash too....
