Ive had my new quad core (XP32bit) for 9 months now and in all that time the only game that wont work with my MSFFBpro is IL-2 1946

Forces work with every other game from FSX to Mechwarrior3 (thats a 1999 game)

All i get with IL2 is either force-centering or worse no force/no centering.

But the wierd bit is that stick shake from guns or hits still works. In fact the gun shake is enough to upset aiming whist no othe force works :( :(

The loss of force feedback and the loss of my quickshot masterpilot has killed the game for me....

Any one got any Ideas?

IL2 FFB is lame at best.

I've tried a multitude of tweaked FFB files for the game.

I fly IL2 with it turned off in the game.

I still have a solid feel of the stick, and aiming is precise.

When trying ffb, I used files turning gun shake all but off.

I couldn't see letting that wear out my stick.

What forced me to drop FFb all together is the fact that once you alt tab out, for any reason you loose FFB entirely till you restart the game, a real PIA, and not worth the trouble.

I'm using FFB in ROF and alt tabbing has no effect on it, hopefully SOW will be able to manage this as well.

Post up the bit of your conf.ini that contains the [rts_joystick]

Should have a FF=1 line in there somewhere.

Mine works fine with XP/Vista/7 - centres well and can 'feel' the flight envelope well.

IIRC I did tone down the gun effects...may have lost that.

I copied my original working install on to a USB HardDrive so all my CFGs would be saved .I still have this as my virgin /vanila install

I also have a modified force cfg dowloaded from the UBI or MFT forums (less gun shake)

The only thing different is the Processor/MB/Memory.

Even more weird...

In this line:

Z=0 10 20 30 40 50 60 70 80 90 100

A trailing zero is missing.

Not that it will matter for the FF. But maybe it does.

As for the FF: I wouldn't know. Very weird.

The only other thing I can think of is that the stick is not visible as being FF for the game, but then the game would probably switch off the FF, when you go into the 'Input' screen.

Check the contents of the game's forcefeedback folder. Are all .ffe files present in there?

Sidenote: as for 'Perfect Force' try a Guillemot FFB.

If you want to try the G940, better first make sure you like it. And you can return it should you not like it.

It's rather specific, especially regarding FFB.

Any chance you have another game controller connected, that has maybe a rumble effect in it?

IL2 will only support the FFB on the first gamecontroller that has FFB capabilities...
