T_O_A_D
Here are the few things that peaked my interest. http://www.simhq.com/_air13/air_420a.html Some long awaited joystick controls via game. Yes triggers Oleg: Yes, an updated dedicated server will be available with the v4.09 release. guod: Will the 4.09 update void any mods? Or mods dealing with specific areas? Oleg: The intention was to not disable or fight with the mods. We wanted to finalize the beta patch and deliver some new content IL-2 fans might have been waiting for. Martin: It is our personal preference to work privately, in a small but experienced team, and release add-ons that are closed to further end-user modifications. There are many talented people around the world who can enhance this simulator, there is no doubt about it. However, we would like to provide an alternative to those IL-2 fans who find open modding inconvenient, difficult to follow, and prefer smaller but structured and unique content over quantity. If there are people who share the same vision as we do and would like to contribute with their own work to our project or cooperate with us, they can contact the team here. guod: Oleg, what do you think about the job done on v4.09 by Team Daidalos? Oleg: Should I think bad of them, I wouldn't have agreed to publish this under my name. I believe in them. But, I will say even more — I am simply stunned by the results of their work! I like everything they did. I wish them best of luck in their hard work and hope, they will continue to follow the right principles and quality standards. This team really can become a great SOW add-on maker in the future, when it's ready for it's 3D engine. guod: One last question which you can probably guess what it is... when can we download the final v4.09 update? Oleg: As soon as we are able. TOAD:Two Weeks Be sure!

T_O_A_D
Cool! Finally, IL2-Sticks is in the Game's GUI! (+Some more) I know, that was one of my first thoughts too. You deserve a big credit for that I'm sure.
Zooly
Did you put your name to the said programs FT? because you should get some credit at the very least.
1. DDz Quorum FoolTrottel Posted July 29, 2009 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted July 29, 2009 Well, could one really take credit for an idea? An idea that was there only because the original designers/programmers simply forgot to add a basic function in the GUI? IL2-Sticks is what I created, (it says so in Help, About) Someone used that idea to create an extended version of it: JoyControl. It's all cool... Enforcer57
Wow. It appeared taht the artillery was firing like howitzers, over the hill and hitting targets out of sight, unlike the line of sight restriction we have. Is this correct? Will artillery act more like artillery with arching fire, rather than like anti-tank guns with straight line of sight shooting?
