Tribunus
We had a long weekend here, so I took another trip out into the desert.
Tribunus
The picture (View 1) is up higher on the plateau looking down toward the big, lighter colored boulder where the numbers and the three bodies were found.
Tribunus
Well, I found bones alright, just not whale bones.
Streak
Now that's what I'd call an exiting little adventure.
BadAim
Now THAT is an adventure. I should think that the first thing a desert traveler thinks on finding the bones of another desert traveler might be "But for the grace of God.......". Am I off base? Tribunus
"But for the grace of God.......". There is a strong sense of that.

Jediteo
How much hellenistic influences can be found today Tribunus? Alexandria is supposed to have been quite a beutiful city in its day.
Tribunus
Alexandria would have been an amazing place to see back then.
Jediteo
Please do Tribunus, while I mainly study modern history, ancient civilisations are quite fascinating. The dynasty of Ptolemy was quite interesting, especially with the intrigue of Augustus/Octavianus and Marcus Antonius. The libary of Alexandria and the lighthouse is one of those wonders I always wanted to see, but they are both destroyed.
