Fireman
Gents was looking to buy a new (maybe 2) PC for the kids..... Wasnt looking for anything too fancy. I looked at Tigerdirect.ca and just picked the "pre-made" systems there and sorted by price.
Blairgowrie
Will the kids ever want to take their pc to school Andrew? A desktop and a notebook might be a good combination. You can find some very nice off lease, laptops from Tiger laptops with Windows XP for about the same price. I also favour the Acer one over the Compaq. It is faster at 2.6 v 2.3 and has a bigger HD. If they don't need a video card then it will not be necessary.
Fireman
they arer only 9 and 5 years old so taking them to school (or anywhere else for that matter) wont be an option.
Quazi
I would go with the second link mainly for the card reader already installed in case they ever take pics and want to download them to their computer either to share them with friends or possibly print them if you get a printer that does that sort of thing. Fireman
actually, either one of those systems would be better than my current rig, with the exception of the vid cards. My current setup is a regular old AMD AhtlonXP 3700+ 64bit processor, Nvidia SLI MOBO, only 1 gig RAM, 250 gig HDD and an nVidia 7800GT 256meg vid card. Perfesser
Been trying to think of these guys for a few days, finally got it. http://www.mdgdirect.ca/ Sort of a chain store but with more custom stuff. They build it on the spot, not order a pre-made system. You choose options, upgrades. Southern Ontario
