What if you switch off Vsync in Game? I did that, FPS got unlocked from 60 and are much higher... whether or not choppy? I do not know, have not looked to much at the scenery, all the time looking at the map for icons, or the sky for dots... Some scenery was seen chasing low flying a/c but the focus was never on it...

New Or Returning To Active Service With The Dogz?
FoolTrottel replied to Jabo's topic in Jim's Place
Hello Retro, Welcome here! You can never embarrass us as a group, we are fully capable of doing that ourselves! Edit: But you are very welcome to join us doing that !! -
Had a good session today, invited and led by Fenrir. Spitfire! So, first take off was yeah, a take off. No tires screeches, no damage to the runway. Need some more training though. Started shooting up some ground targets, some nice ones, that did not shoot at us. Shot one up, then my left hand wing got hit by the one that suddenly raised its barrel up in the air, or maybe it was me dipping it too low. So, anyways, I managed to fly it back to base, no way it would land - so I bailed. Took a new one, Fen landed as - I think - only he can And he perfrormed a quick re-arm and re-fuel, as our AA was firing. So I took off from the taxi way - scramble - rather similar to the first take off - all over the place. By the time we were in the air, the offending a/c had been shot down by AA. Good. So, we went off back to the ground targets, shot them up some more. Last targets done, off to a supply column that should be near. It was. We wrecked it, both got 7 trucks. So, back home. To land. Oh dear, the thought of that!! But then my game crashed. Oops. An error in d3d11.dll. Oh well, Restart PC, all is fine again. Took off, and we set out to the enemy airbase. Fen spotted the dots, I followed him. He was a bit ahead, so in the end, he got the interest of two 190D9's. Somewhere before my game crash, I had tuned my rudder sensitivity, that improved my hitting... so I shot both 190's down. For sure, a lot of that success was because of Fen's SA and callouts On the way home, Fen called out once more: "FT, BREAK!" And usually, my stoic being and right out coolness - one could also say lack of reaction speed or the "Hmmm, Hey, what?" does not help in situations like that, but in this case it was not relevant as at the very same moment, the AA gun shooting at me did damage. Inspection by Fenrir learned my right hand elevator was gone, the stabilizer it had been connected to damaged, the left hand elevator was perforated, as was the rudder.... So, yeah that explained the funny flying the machine did. Now I was afraid the thing would be completely out of lateral control in a slow speed landing attempt, so I was getting ready to bail. Then Fenrir advised me to climb to 4K Ft, slow down, see what it would do. Well, it did not too bad, until I lowered the flaps. Yeah, so, it nearly went out of control, but I could get it back. Phew. So, next was the task to try and bring her lower, lined up on the runway / grass next to it for a belly landing. Control was still difficult - such slow response on the elevator, no rudder - takes patience to slow it down just using power ... There's the runway, there's the grass. (so my approach was good!). Good speed. Now you know, there's that ground-effect. Brilliant when you're in a Spit with elevator damage. Yeah, just when I was about to close the throttle completely, and let it 'flare' on the grass... the nose just pitched up and no way to catch that... Managed to bring her back up to some 3K Ft, and bailed out - again ... Next time, I'm gonna try and land the thing! Hopefully when I somehow make it home without damage Thanks Fenrir, good fun, good show. And to all that are thinking about getting into DCS, stop thinkin', and go for it. And grab the Spit. Even if you get to fly it once a fortnight or once a month like me... it is so effin bwilliant! You do need to know how to do stuff, and when to do it, but if you assign the Autostart procedure - like I did - it just takes some time to fire it up, nothing else. (One can even hear the auto procedure operate the wobble pump) and if you just keep an eye on the Rev counter and on the boost, oh, and on the speed, the Spitfire just flies itself.

It is a sign indeed. Timing wise? No idea

That's cool... Just realized I never paid a thing for it, got it gifted, cos back in them days I was a 'Moderator' at the UbiZoo... Now that I've had so much good times out of it, I should put some money into it... (Oh, and still having those) So, any one over here in need of it, just holler here, I'll pay for it! First come, first served! Disclaimer: You gots to be a DD!

So, as ATAG server #1 was having a test session after a fix for lag, I decided to jump in there. On my own. Not on TS. Spawned in at Wilmington, headed out west, as the enemy had already invaded the Isle of Wight. First followed a Hurribomber that had taken off in front of me, quickly lost sight of it... A Beaufighter was seen... shortly. Climbed ... then there were some white tracers zipping past my cockpit, and a dot disappearing behind me. Oh well. It did not really come back. At that time. Got close to the NE tip of IoW, and the enemy flak started firing at me, I was at 19K ft-ish. So, I knew what would be next, and as I saw no other dots, nothing to attack, I headed back N, and E. Next, tracers again. Right hand flat turn, and something zipping past and up up up. 109, me thinks, so, diving a bit, trying to keep an eye out behind me, yes, there he comes... he got some hits on me. No damage. I kept loosing alt, and kept turning and banking, hoping he would be a mature pilot, and would not follow me down - stoopid thinkin', as a mature/experienced 109 pilot would have killed me already, or at least would have caused damage. So, more swoops at me and at one of his climbs out, I kinda followed him - has some good speed left out of a dive - he went over the top, it was a head on and I may have hit him ... Then there was another a/c, luckily a friendly one as it was shooting at it. So, the 109 made one more pass at me, some more hits, still no damage. Headed out east, at low level. Navigated all the way back to Wilmington, did a circuit, did a nice landing, and at the roll out to the hangers the AA started firing. Oh dear. More white tracers zipping past, next a big explosion on the field, well that 109 just went in to the ground! I survived this all somehow, without any damage to my a/c. Kind of a miracle, lucky me did not encounter any good enemy pilots The no-white-plane-map-no-externals brought me back to the SOW missions, cool. We really should venture over there as a group!

Locate the file called UserConf.ini and edit it. (Will be in My Documents\1C Softclub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\folder) Look for the ChatWindow section, and copy these text into it, replacing what there is now: [ChatWindow] 0:-1=-posSize '0.016 0.861 0.152 0.139' -titleStr "Info Window" -alpha 0 -ualpha 0 -vscroll -wrap -history 100 0:262144=-lay 0 -fnt 0 -clr 0 1:-1=-posSize '0.819 0.595 0.181 0.145' -titleStr "Secondary Controls" -alpha 130 -ualpha 0 -history 10 -timeout 15 1:5=-font 0 1:4=-font 0 1:7=-font 0 2:-1=-posSize '0.000 0.005 0.200 0.200' -titleStr "Info Window" -alpha 50 -ualpha 0 -vscroll -wrap -history 90 -timeout 25 2:2=-font 0 3:-1=-posSize '0.781 0.007 0.215 0.188' -titleStr "Info. Have seen some 'compatibility' issues with some missions, where a custom ammo-belt load out was used for the 109's and the 110's. This may also occur when in an on line mission! Due to this issue, I could not change the load out of my 110C7 correctly. The load out screen would not show correctly. Could fix it by editing 'user.ini' with note pad and delete two lines, under [Aircraft.Bf-110C-7] section: beltPreset FT-110 _Gun06 Gun.MG15 MainBelt 0 0 0 0 2 5 5 5 5 beltPreset FT-110 _Gun00 Gun.MG17 MainBelt 0 0 0 0 6 5 5 5 2 So if you've ever customized the ammo belts in either 109 or 110 - you may come accross this!

Have created our own 'BlitzWatchDog' for the server, so it re-launches Blitz whenever it stops, or whenever the server gets restarted. Not sure whether it all works okay, as well, testing a situation that occurs once in 6 hours is kinda taking a while... Mind you: Our server hás been upgraded, and it cannot be used by any 4.312 version clients! Just to be very and extra clear: This BlitzWatchdog' is a server-side utility, got nothing to do with you clients. Try and reach out to me whenever you got issues connecting, ie. when our Blitz server is not online.

IL2MG - IL2-Mission Generator It's a download, zip file, extract it somewhere, point it to IL2 executable, and you can generate missions. I'm not yet sure what it exactly does, or how it works. People appear to be happy about it though ...

Sean, I've granted you access to the place where our Teamspeak information is stored: TeamSpeak server info This way, you can talk to you, and you can talk to us. On the main forum page there's an overview of the TS servers, who's active in there. Sunday evenings we are on, flying the old IL2 1946. We are looking into getting us a true BoX evening, could be Tuesdays (also 1946 at the moment) On Thursday's we are active with Cliffs of Dover. I might be on TS Sunday sometime during the day ...
