  1. Here are a few other useful links I've found this week. Document listing which features each plane has so you can make sure to bind them: https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/29700-basic-guide-cem-key-mapping-new-starters/ Requiem's Tutorial Series (most folks have probably already found these): https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLnyigzFtHeNquPvKFr3mazkk_VK0JpxUw Sheriff's guides: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLc4tmHaPyjwxbAhCGsh7ohpHApU-LxH4m https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLc4tmHaPyjww6PesMpxqRrcH10G_U4FQt These 1940's training films are a bit dry and a little overkill for playing BoX but describe a few things that may be confusing to new flyers trying to get to grips with expert settings: How propellers work (Pitch etc): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7CLicyIVM18 How a carburetor works (Rich/lean mix, manifold pressure etc): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8a3ur6Ar_k Basic acrobatics: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ciHwwRCeBw
  2. Hello fellow flyers!

No worries there, while I currently live in Glasgow I grew up in a few different countries and as a result have ended up with a rather flat English accent. Folks here assume I'm English, folks down south are just confused as they can't place it either. Didnt make it on to TS last night, was recovering from my sisters Birthday celebrations and got an early night. Talking of birthdays Happy Birthday BluBear! And thanks for the welcomes
  3. online servers

I've yet to fly on the multiplayer servers but I like the sound of Coconuts dynamic campaign once I'm competent to do so without wrecking my sides chances. I think it could be really fun to plan and execute missions with a small flight within the context of the ongoing battle. It's less busy than the TAW server so might be better for newer pilots. As for navigation I've been flying with the IL-2 2 Mission Planner up on a 2nd screen (Would be good on a tablet too) so I can quickly reference the map against what I can see out the plane.
  4. Hello fellow flyers!

What about if you guys need to talk to me, where do I go to then? Thanks FoolTrottel. I'll pop on TS and say hi
  5. I'm also finding ground handling a bit tricky, I'm pretty good at donuts I quite like that each plane has its own quirks that you need to work out. Some certainly seem harder than others. I've found it kind of rewarding when I start to feel like I'm getting the hang of it. The German planes I've tried have individual wheel breaks, Russians either have a single break for both sides or use the rudder to select which break to apply. Being slow and steady with the throttle seems to be the key though regardless of the plane.

  7. Hello fellow flyers!

Thanks for pointing me to your forum. So far I've been brushing up my skills on single player stuff but I'm looking forward to flying with folks. I'm going to be busy tonight but should be free tomorrow if anyone is about.
  8. Hi folks. I've recently picked up BoX (Stalingrad and Kuban so far) and posted an introduction on the main forum. Crash dropped me a PM saying you were looking for some new members so I thought I'd pop along and say hello.
