  1. Found on one of the aviation forums, here is some excellent and rare colour footage of RAF Czech pilots during 42/43 in the UK. And you can also see the [currently under restoration] Shuttleworth Collection Spitfire Vc taxiing past the camera in part one. (Look out for AR501 codes: NN-A) Simply fantastic. Part One: Part Two: Heroes. The lot of them.
  2. It's quite something isn't it? I'd love to see/hear it in formation with some of the other ultimate Navy prop warbirds... Imagine: Seafire 47, Bearcat, Tigercat, Sea Fury... All together. What a sight and sound that would be! ...And to satisfy TOAD they could all fire the crap outta replica period ground targets! Whoooosh, grrooooooowwwwwww, daggadagga... BOOOM!
  3. Just an update, if any of you chaps haven't seen, the '190 emerged from the paint shop a while ago and here are some up to date photos.clicky here Nice to see the paint is 'settling in' although it still seems to throw up discussion over just how authentic the shades are! To be honest, I like it. It's different and represents what this particular aircraft looked like, in field applied camo, at the time of it's forced landing.
  4. Both February and March now have 1680 x 1050 added and are ready to d/l from the vault
  5. I dunno, there's always one! Of course mate, I'll sort it.
  6. Good Good. Oh, the anticipation!
  7. Not entirely convinced with the sounds... Further placeholders perhaps? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5EqSo2hzBk
  8. March also now available to download in the vault This time a Fenrir compostion, did he ever mention he rather likes the P-38? ;-) March-thumb by twostix, on Flickr
  9. Looking good! Nice find mate
  10. Personally, I preferred the Horseman as a two ship routine, it was somehow more dynamic. However, i'll be more than happy to watch them again, whatever their routine and especially considering they plan to bring their own Mustangs this year! Yes it seems TFC are slowly getting air under the wings of their collection, i'd be surprised if the '47 flys this year, though I'm sure we'll see more of the regulars from Hangar 2 where they belong (in the air of course!).
  11. DD Calendar - February available to d/l now!

      March is also now up.

  12. Hi guys, just to let you know that February is now available to d/l in the vault! (get it here) The featured screenshot is beautifully captured by SID, a very wintry pose I thought perfect for this month! I'm finally getting there, apologies that it's taken so long. For what it's worth i will make January available to download too soon. February-thumb by twostix, on Flickr
  13. Blimey! What is this? A new sound pack or summat? Loving thosoe clouds too, where can i get them?
  14. My jaw just hit the floor. WOW!
  15. My apologies everyone, I am fully aware that Feb is nearly upon us and so far no calendar! The truth of the matter is, that for the past 3 weeks, every evening without fail I've been working till the small hours of the morning re-decorating my bathroom, not even had a chance to fire up IL2! However, now that job is done and real-life can go on hold for a little while, I hope to get it finished ready for d/l and hopefully sort out some printed ones. Watch this space!
  16. My PC would have an epic fail with COD. It doesn't even touch those specs... Time to go poota shopping ;-) (After I rob a bank!) Nice to have an idea on what to buy now.
  17. is nearly finished decorating his bathroom and should be back online next week!

  18. Woah, the Five Oh! And you sound so young on comms... lol just kidding, you sound old! Many happy returns of the day old chap.
  19. I was there, along with Fenrir. It was a fantastic show. One of the best in years. Breathtaking at times and for me personally, it was an all round better show than Flying Legends '10 (not usually the case). The Spitfire Finale gave me shivers.
  20. My absence from all things Dogz is due to redecorating my bathroom! Oh the joy! Hope to see you chaps again soon, I crave stick time!

You play IL-2 in your bathroom? :D

  21. That is sad news, but he had a 'good innings' as we would say here in Blighty. Rest in Peace Sir. You were an admirable leader, a soldiers soldier and without doubt a one of a kind unassuming hero. I had the enormous privilage of meeting Buck Compton, Don Malarkey, Ed Tipper and Brad Freeman at Flying Legends in 2009, remarkable chaps.

  23. If you're interested here is the official report into the matter which explains things much better than I can. http://www.aaib.gov.uk/cms_resources.cfm?file=/North%20American%20P-51D-20%20Mustang,%20G-BIXL%2012-08.pdf
  24. @kimo Not exactly, it is operated with the respect and consideration expected of such an exhibit of history by the very experienced owners of these aircraft. The engine troubles never manifested themselves on the ground, at some point you have to air test if no problems are found on terra firma. This was done during the day on the Sunday as I understand after working on it overnight which revealed no obvious faults. As I recall the flight test during the day was successful, however the pilot started experiencing rough running during formation flying during the show. As it transpires the problem was associated with quick adjustment of throttle settings (keeping in formation) and of course during landing when the power is worked often. As you can see the Merlin finaly gave up the ghost after a power adjustment short of the threshold. An unfortunate incident definitely, but not I believe as a result of negligence on the part of the operator! One of those things. At the least no one was hurt and the aircraft was in one piece!
