Hi chaps, Those of you coming to Flying Legends this year may be interested to see the progress of the resident P-47G (Curtis built Razorback) that The Fighter Collection have been restoring for the last few years. We've seriously missed the presence of a 'Jug' since they sold 'No Guts No Glory' a couple of years back and to have a rare bird like this one nearing completion is rather exciting! Check out the latest progress over on this thread at WIX: Clicky Clicky! The last time I saw her, she was on jacks and lacking engine/prop u/c and many other parts, so the guys have been seriously busy of late!

For April the subject is old and new. This month saw the release of Cliffs of Dover in most countries and therefore a Battle of Britain theme was chosen. The upper image shows the old, Fruitbat's 'Nine Lives' campaign on Legacy IL2 captured superbly by FT and the new is SID making mincemeat of the boche in Oleg's new masterpiece! (tbc, lol). Now available to download in the vault.

So after some hectic workingweeks and a short holiday in Ireland i'm back, and bring you April for the DD Calendar! (Better late than never!) It's ready to D/L now.

Good question, I think you have a valid point though. Imagine if they were way out to sea and the 130 went U/S on the deck. Where would you put it?! lol. Great skill from the pilots in question, especially as they had no previous experience on type, or any multi engined type at all!

Epic Shop Fail. Call me old fashinoed, but I really want the box, a physical artifact in my hands which would sit pride of place on my shelf. To be honest I would probably order online anyway, but it seems a shame that these retailers couldn't stock them. I guess, if it isn't an FPS or Sing-dance-shakeyourtits-and-play-plastic-fake-guitar-hero-star then they're not interested.

Exactly Crash, there's plenty of life left in Legacy IL-2 yet! Just looking at SAS and the rest of the Mod community is encouragment enough. The way I see it, I've waited 5,6,7 however many years since CloD was first announced, another couple of months for me isn't going to matter. -

I haven't got a rig capable of running it yet so I'm going to sit tight until I can afford it. Hopefully by that time this epilepsy issue will have been overcome and i'll also have a better idea what components to buy! I look forward to hearing all about the game from those Dogz that can run it now. -

Likewise Bucky, i've been running Win7 for over a year now and have had little to no problems running all my older applications from when I was using XP. I'm usually on TS a few times a week anyway but if you're needing some help sometime this weekend feel free to drop me a PM and i'd be happy to log on and help you out. I use LogMeIn for remote access, I find it stable, secure and simple to use. I used it to help my Father in Ireland get setup with his new PC also on Win7 running IL-2 and Track IR.

It has been confirmed that the Flying Bulls collection will be sending over their P-38 and Corsair to Duxford this year for Flying Legends. Clicky here! This along with the possibility of a Mosquito stopping off from Oz to USA is a mouthwatering prospect. This will also be the first time since 1996 that a P-38 has been seen in the skies of England. I simply cannot wait!!!!!

Sounding positive Arthur, that's good to hear mate! Let's hope you can recover some/all of your data in due course and as cheaply as possible! I have to thank you actually, this thread has served as a catalyst for me pulling my finger out and finally getting round to ordering my new back up hdd. It's always one of those things on the list to do when I get five mins and always forget. -
Just connect up to TOAD's server in game and have a go. (observing the mod details at the top of the web page, and the address) It's handy when you just want to jump in and get involved, being an MDS and all. Even when there's no-one else around it can still be more fun than a blast on the QMB in my opinion.

Very nice mate and a good kill too. I do love those 'seat of ya pants' turning fights sometimes. Especially at low alt/speed, when the slightest wrong move and 'wop!' you spin in, lol. Keeps you awake for sure!
