My new rig has arrived! Well, the components that'll make up my new rig; some assembly required of course. May need some pointers and recommendations with regards to the software side of things - transferring windows, setting up new partitions, user folders etc. Also, can I copy across GBS and DCS installs or will these need to be fresh downloads? I'll probably tackle this Monday afternoon / evening because I don't think I'll have time to sort it all before the campaign tomorrow night.

Well I finally got confirmation over the phone that I should have my order this Saturday. Have to say, I know they are stretched, but the service hasn't been exemplary. After they tried to get me to downgrade because my mobo wasn't in stock, I found it on their website under a new LN number on sale for cheaper than I'd paid for it! Anyway, minor refund on its way and everything now in stock and being stress tested as we speak. Just under a month from ordering.

What a horrendous state of affairs!

1st December 1944 - 402nd Mission debrief Upon ingress to the patrol area at angels 12, Red 3 spotted four bandits below us still within the frontline, N/W of Nettersheim. Red flight immediately dropped down to trail the E/A, now confirmed as 262s, with White flight providing top cover. Whilst the four 262s were duly dispatched by Red flight, White flight spotted and engaged a formation of six Ju 88s higher and to the North of Nettersheim. Red flight re-grouped with White flight who had already got plenty stuck in to jerry and assisted in bringing down all E/A. With the squadron reformed, we headed North to continue our patrol of the front-line, checking in with Snowdrop along the way. On the return leg heading 160', bogies were spotted to the East near the 410th target area of Zülpich, although upon closer inspection these turned out to be escort P-38s so we headed back to the Southern patrol point. Eagle-eyed Red 3 once again spotted a pair of low flying 262s N/E of Nettersheim that were duly taken care of by Red flight. With the squadron now brought down low, we looked for ground targets of opportunity to attack (Red 3 and 4 still had their bombs). After a number of successful attacks on Howitzers and AAA, with ammo running low, we headed 250' to recover at Florennes. Well flown gents, good teamwork all round and a decent tally of E/A destroyed, crucially to no losses on our side.

Tempting, but the mobo bundle is being overclocked and stress-tested by them as a whole unit (mobo-cpu-ram) so not sure they'll do that. As I said, I'm in no particular rush, so if I have to wait a few weeks, so be it.

To be honest, I think they are really suffering (as all suppliers are) from the scalpers etc and subsequent increased demand naturally now on the next range of components down from top end. Fingers crossed I don't have to wait too long...

Well, rather frustratingly I just got an email from Scan saying that two of the items I've ordered (RAM and SSD) are out of stock with no firm ETA, despite everything being in-stock at the point of ordering. Two other items (mobo and cooler) are due in tomorrow and 15/3 which is fine. Luckily, I'm in no rush (yet) but it's just annoying when it all clearly said in stock when they took my money.

Odd. I noticed the same thing in the chat box a while ago, whatever you posted there showed as a broken link but everyone else seemed to see it.

I have a recurring problem seeing or rather not seeing images you post Kev. Happens on both my PC and here on my smartphone. Anyone got any ideas?

Huzzah! That's good news. I finally pulled the trigger on my new set up today, awaiting lead time now from scan. Any luck with 3060s last night Nick? Noticed all greyed out on scan today.

I think if I upgrade now, this will be where I probably go next 'cycle'. We'll see.
