  1. mY favs are teh two Isreali episodes. THere was a Luftwaffe episode (maybe two I think), one about the ramming outfit that flew into bombers kamikaze style (but they had parachutes). That was incredible. They interviewed a survivor, If i remember correctly. It was an excellent show. Considering how much world wide material htey could have had, I don't understand why they didn't pursue it. Had to be high ratings. I guess they were too busy working on ice road truckers, gangland, ax men, or some of the other stuff
  2. Woo hoo!!!! They may be gymnastic, but the costumes were definitely the "put ones in my garter" type. I liked ms trickster. Taht's a very gymnastic sounding name. I wish I was there with a camera.
  3. Cool. The Chinook ramp gunner (or maybe a sea stallion) is nice. So is the avatar video you have.
  4. Well, one-upmanship demands that I point out that I remember when we were actually fighting the VC. Man, you think the news media is stupid NOW....... Good joke btw. I can't wait till the Iran version comes out.
  5. Ditto, but I won't say much else or I'll fill two pages. We have these goober heads in the US big time, and I've been pissed off since Seeing Jane Fonda and Ramsey Clark commit treason with impunity when I was in high school . We need another WW2 type brush with destruction to restore our national character in most western countries, especially US and Britain. These morons would have us all abolish our armed forces and surrender to
  6. I'd love to see the actual NK movie htis is taken from. Probably blast F-15s outta the sky with their Fishbeds Im sure. It's not DT's hitler rampage about the SEOW, but it's still pretty damn good. Plus the current views of their Mig-21s (targets). I hope it hasnt been posted before, but Im getting old, and it's worth another look even if you have seen it.
  7. Man I wish I could show up. Too much reality though. I miss going to those kinds of shows, and envy you guys. What's as much fun as the planes aer the people you meet. At Harlingen Tx in 89, I got to meet Tom Blackburn (jolly rogers) and RT Smith (AVG). I met RT in the lousy backwoods terminal
  8. That last one is exactly what I would have said. Then i would (assuming she was pretty hot) told her she would be a great subject for photography, so she should follow me to my studio,
  9. Ah yes, the most effectice add ploy, going back go Roman times. I fully approve,
  10. Ok, since photobucket has adopted the photo policies of the Taliban and censored a couple of htem, I posted a link to myspace site where they are posted. Go to the Tracy S folder in my pics. www.myspace.com/colonialphotoghttp:// I really would love to have some time alone with these puritan morons. Jerks. Hopefully I'll have some more in the coming weeks.....if nobody turns me in to the Ga. Taliban.
  11. I'm gonna convert a fw more of them, with appropriate briefings. There will have to be alot of air starts, especially for the Soviets. Wish I had time to convert them properly, but we can still make do with what i got in mind. Still working on this nearly every day, and all the weekends. I keep finding skins out of place for some reason. Something to do with my 2 computers crashing and drawing on the backups, but other thanthat, mostly intact. Wish I had time to make some movies to put in , but that would take months for me to even learn how.
  12. Good training area for learning how to handle your ride at low alt. Looks pretty good. I was last there in 79. A good place to lose alien fighters to. Cool skin Col. Wish one of those guys would give us an L-4 or L-5. (Cub and Stinson).
  13. and I really don't give a damn if I spelled that right. But SHE called me agaiin, and I was instructed to bring my camera to her apartment, so I felt I should go. Anyone who doesn't like it can complain to HER. Anyway, I posted more of these in the private Dogz forum, if you feel you can trouble yourselves to struggle by there......
  14. I tend to agree with most of that Perfessor, especially these days. We can keep support as long as our casualties are low and it's pretty quick, which is why hte Iraq thing wasn't well thought out initially. The exception is Vietnam. I well remember it, as my Dad was a civilian flight instructor for the Army the entire war, and I watched the news every evening as a kid. The the vast majority of the so called "anti war" movement was protesting ENEMY casualties, and fully supported the NVA and VC war effort. These guys ALWAYS had dozens of VC/NV flags, made no secret of their support for the communists and thier hatred for the US miilitary. I saw this crap myself in Enterprise Ala as they would come down there and protest outside Ft RUcker; I am still pissed that the armed forces day airshow was cancelled due to their demands in response to the invasion of Cambodia in 69; I see why, since it hurt their friends so bad. . I was in High school when Jane Fonda went to Hanoi and cheered on NVA gunners as they fired at our planes during Linebacker in 72, and called POWs war criminals. Just wanted to make sure everybody remembered those people. We have got to make sure that kind of nonsense is never encouraged again.
  15. That's very impressive, but I just can't see flying airliner sims as anything but training for actual flying. I gotta go out and (simulate) kill somebody.
  16. YEah, the nam stories by 105 and F4 guys are amazing. A friend of mine (Col. Bob Cordle, USAF ret) flew a tour in 104Cs (the Migs refused to fight them) in mid 60s, then in 105Ds (the "hairiest), and finally F-4Ds in 68-70 I think.
  17. You carbon based bipeds are impressed so easily......er, uh, I mean, that's neat. Seriously, when I was 15, I got a nice telescope and spent hrs using htat thing. I won't ever forget the first time I saw saturn. Nothing like the above, but it looked a bright yellow oval with two holes in it, until I got my perspective right. I freaked out. I still have that thing someplace.
  18. That is hilarious....I THINK that first weapon (that kept coming out of thier unprepared hands) LOOKS like something in the class of one of the .460 elephant guns, obviously wiht a pretty heavy bullet. When I was about 20, I , already being the guy COPs came to with firearm questions, had my only actual AD when my Ruger .300 mag went off on my hip as I took the safety off....with oversized gloves on. I wound up on the ground, but my firearm never did....somehow. I respect the arab guy who caught it after it flew out of his hands. The shoulder launched weapon LOOKED to me like one of the Soviet/Chinese recoiless rifles (rocket launcher AT weapon). I don't see how that could have happened w/o it blowing up and killing everyone. Still, he was "F-ed up". That looked like a total malfunction. The last one really freaked me out......that guy seem to have had no training at all. but what really got me was the gun...it looked like a WW2 57mm AT gun. Very interesting.
  19. Yeah, it's pretty smooth once you learn that a bit. I usually rotate about 88% to avoid overheating. On shorter runways I go a bit higher but back off once in hte air and let it build up speed. Of course, the AI versions in hte same flight climb faster as they can do 100% w/o overheating. I am really looking forward to the new FM of the ones (A and C Hopefully) that includes the speed brake effect. Making approaches is my biggest cmplaint, as doing those big circles to lose speed is a pain that they did not have to do. Once this thing gets speed up, its pretty fast. I used the Ta-183 as an La-15 prototype hack (see the ubi-post. a direct developement of the 183 that was availible in small numbers in 48), and that thing is a good bit faster in all aspects than the 80, as the La-15 was in reality. The only real difference is the 30mm instead of 23. Was a real challenge taking on a couple of those things in a bigger furball near Vladivostock.
  20. Heh heh. If they ever get the actual P-80A going (like it was originally submitted by the creator), it will be very popular. JP, I intend on using the new spit as an AI later on when they most of the other planes availibe that I really need. most are being worked on, but I wish jolly would finish the meteor F4 before doing 400 versions of the 51....gonna take a while. I want to release a version htat includes the original which cn be used with standard 408, but have a mod version with the new planes. I know that a Vampire, Skyraider, P-61, Sea Fury
  21. Quick, before BG sees this, you guys are gonna need some jet time - in the next very few weeks (hopefully) I intend on posting my completed "Red Star/White Star - 1948" cmpn (formerly 47). I know some of you HATE jets (cough-BG-cough), but this is about 20 mos of VERY intense work and research, not to mention skin work by several comrades and much help from all over. THis should have been posted 6 mos ago, but reality in the form of associated CRAP, like getting laid off, three ambulance trips and two stays in the ICU, hunting more employment, and promoting my photography (finally working it seems), and two computers crashing. Now that I'm making it much better, I am working everyday on tweaking stuff that has to be done to get it online. I am determined to get this up long before SOW comes out, and my testers have all been very positive. There will also be some coop versions as well (and yer gonna look silly if you don't have the right skins. Anyway, you fly the P-80 in most of them, which means dealing with slow throttle operation and not overheating. Only takes a bit of flying to get used to it, and now the P-80 is my favorite ride. This is the thread I started on the zoo sometime ago. http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/50910533/m/8791000676 It's not ready yet, but get some jet time in the P-80, as well as the Yak-15, Mig-9, Tu-2 and Pe-2, and Arado 234 if you want to fly the coop versions. And don't tell BG......somebody may have to do the "Crimson Tide" thing, or convince him to fly the RAF Spits that are flown by RAAF pilots (that's not fiction btw). Anyway, get some time in the US and Soviet jets so you will be ready. I'm sure if faced with a coup BG will give in.
  22. Yup, but be warned, the selection and qualifying course for the Dogz (and the Hellhounds for that matter) is on par with the pilot training program of the Isreali Air Force. It may be pretty rough....... Almost as tough as qualifying to get inside a "gentleman's" club on a Friday night. Or maybe even ordering a Big Mac at Mcdonald's. Yup, pretty rough. I dunno if Delta guys could make it here. And you guys should remember that the Hounds are flying on sat night as well (US time). You should consider cruising by in force. Our COs are so.......similar.
  23. Ah the value of higher education........but I am cracking up. Good luck enduring the mental stimulation and wisdom you will encounter. I just started tech college again and am really enjoying the psychology class I'm taking. Should be REALLY useful getting the Computer aided drafting certificate I'm after. I forgot how much I hate school. Wish I could take a course in military history of the 20th century, or how to deal with chix.....useful stuff like that.
