  1. this is fine colin - cant see any problems with it - far better to go pci than have a hub I bought a cheep one from a local pc shop , and just plug it in and away you go
  2. can you get some more of the fw 190 the next time you visit - TY
  3. crashes are usually down to 3 main reasons- 1) heat- you have already identified that you may need to clean your fans , do this then restart with side panel off and make sure all fans are working - depending on location of pc you may have to install extra case fans to cool it I have an extra 80mm fan blowing air IN at front and a 80mm blowing air OUT at rear 2) memory, download and run memtest here http://www.memtest86.com/ and run for a few hours to test your memory 3) driver conflicts , you already have updated drivers as per Rogers instructions so you should be ok BTW the 66.93 set you had for your card was fine as it was optimised for that generation of card , however you might find the newer ones give you slightly more FPS. I would recommend you try to get service pack 2 again as this will help. try 1) and 2) above and please report back
  4. I have one file that is all you need to fly with 4.05- just see here http://forums.dangerdogz.com/viewtopic.php?p=3292#3292
  5. Well done Glen and all on both sides that was about the quickest 3 hours of my life. There was some lag in second and third mission but nothing that you couldnt expect with such high numbers and AA I hope we can do it again some time - a desert map might be fun - hint hint for anyone with balls and knowhow to do this. ~S~ to all who flew -both Red and Blue and especially Glen for all the work he done.
  6. Good luck and good flying to all- thanks again to GLen for all his hard work in putting this together see you all soon
  7. sged has seen the light - the blue light - MAUHAHAHAHAHAHA - there is no escape from the dark side
  8. I have sent the ip via e-mail to all those I know are flying blue - if I have missed you out and want to come along then send me an e-mail - time for kickoff will be 2100 hrs GMT where we will practice formation lawndarting and other special manouvers  we will use the blue channel on quazis TS AFAIK this is the core blue AXIS Core delta7 frior-one Von Tonar Psycho Sged Pooka BadAim **Klinger **Rattler klinger and rattler have not received the breif - it IS rocket science - kinda- well ok it was hurridly written down on the back of a fag packet, covered in beer and quickly forgotten Im sure we can quickly fill them in on our wicked plans either on TS or at practice whenever they turn up

  10. Hi - your best bet would be to head over to www.airwarfare.com and check ou tthe faq there , there is also a guide section http://www.airwarfare.com/guides.htm and if you scroll down you will see the tech section with how to set up joysticks. there are many free add-ons - see the same site and also official expansion packs most people fly with il2 forgotten battles+ ace + pacific fighters + PE2 combined there is a link in the guide section above to installing and patching which explains everything in detail http://www.airwarfare.com/guides/patching.htm hope this helps
  11. F6 goes to external view with padlock nearest enemy - by pressing it you have your own radar to prevent anyone from sneaking up on you- not very realistic and totally kills any chance of using proper tactics
  12. Canine convention 1) play fair 2) have fun 3) keep your respect for other side team members- do and say unto others as you would do and say unto yourself 4) no vultching 5) no F6 6)HAVE FUN
  13. If someone is at altitude with Nav lights on, they are fair game. If someone has Nav lights on, and expecting not to get shot, they should also be: 1) Below 1000m 2) Heading toward an airfield 3) Not shooting at anything I also want to state that Nav lights are not a "stop shooting me" ticket in mid-fight. If you have had enough, evade and run or bail. I would support a "no strafing chutes" clause. I would add this to the "nav lights" issue: if you enter a dogfight, you may not use the nav lights to disengage at any time, even if you're winchester or bingo fuel, near your base, above or below 1000m. Once you pick a fight, or agree to defend yourself, there's no turning back. You can't start shooting at someone, and then just say "ok, i want to go home now!" That being said, the gentlemanly rule of not blasting away at a flamer or dead-engine plane is still up to the individual. I hope to be available early enough to join you guys Friday! Totally agree- using nav lights to exit an engagement or to fool someone and then engage them is ungentilmanly conduct - nav lights only signal your on the landing or takeoff pattern and should not be needed any more than 1km from base blue dont need to shoot down flamers as they will probably crash in blue terrirory and so count as captured - red might fel different but blue should bail anyway if badly shot up - they over home ground most of the time anyway I dont like chute shooting but it happens
  14. YOu must be clairvoyant mate I was about to ask the same question about vulching Im Definatly for no vulching or it will turn into a nightmare trying to get wings together externals Im ok with - we should have a gentlemans agreement to only use them for takeoff / landings and to check our own damage - NO F6 super aces cheat tho To stop vulching - no strafing bases and turn nav lights on during take off or landing then rule is no shooting anyone with nav lights on - again we have to be gentlemen about this and remember to turn nav lights off when we are at cruise speed /altitude after taking off. Having said this Iv played on all kinds of servers and vultures usually get their just desserts

    Before You Go

    ~ S~ to all veterans
  16. bless me father for I have sinned- I have had bad thoughts since my last confession *SOB* *SOB* I want to fly blue and want to shoot at little red spitties *SOB*
  17. red tactics- fly straight at 240 kmph at 1000 ft with smoke and nav lights on- DO NOT TURN when you see pretty lights on your wing and aircraft - it is a friendly greating from the boys in blue to warm you up over that cold cold channel
  18. I have thought of a solution- I can record some tracks and send them to you . I will type out notes that you can read while watching the tracks so you know what I am trying to do. This might help - I dont know when I can get these finished but will try to get them done as soon as possible.
  19. the link to the training files is at the top of the article - just click the writting that says Download the File 'Guns 1306kb' It will contain folders that you copy into your il2 folder : # Copy the GBGUNS folder into your C:\program files\IL2 FB\Missions\Single\GB folder. # Copy REVIGUNS folder into your C:\program files\IL2 FB\Missions\Single\DE folder then when you open the game chose single missions chose counrty and then chose mission from dropdown list e.g. launch game and you should be able to select missions in single missions option e.g. Airforce=RAF or Germany Mission Type= gbguns or revi guns Missions will display list to chose from. you will need winrar to extract the files - get it from here http://www.download.com/3000-2250-10007677.html Im afraid nothing is very easy with this game to start off with - it takes time and practice and reading to understand what you should be doing - remember it is simulating aerial combat to a high degree of accuracy the basics are all explained in the user manual at airwarfare, http://airwarfare.com/mediawiki-1.4.5/i ... =Main_Page the rest is practice good luck
  20. I have sent an e-mail to all blue dogz to try to get the teamwork started - this isnt any rules or anything just a start to get us together GO BLUE
  21. I have an article and tutorial missions here http://www.airwarfare.com/guides/snapshot.htm read the articles - especially the fw gunnery link http://www.airwarfare.com/tactics/tactics_fwgunnery.htm as this will help good luck

    TrackIR

http://www.edimensional.com/index.php?cPath=24&ref=73 is where I got mine from - use select currency button to change to £ - it ships from uk my reviews are here http://www.airwarfare.com/AWX/features/index.htm and cover from basic tir3 to tir3 + vector expansion to finally tir 4 my advice would be to bite the bullet and go for tir4 as it is worth it The vector expansion, included in TIR 4 or an addon for TIR3, allows you to lean left and right as well as back/forward and up/down and this will be supported in BOB - it isnt supported in IL2 so you cant lean round posts but the tracking is improved when you use the vector expansion. It is all explained in the reviews or on naturalpoints web site.
  23. Can you try your joystick in another game to test it ? Does it work ok in microsoft game controllers properties ? Allternativly your config file might be goosed - this sometimes happens with patches so try calibrating it again in hardware section and setting up your profile again
