Tonar Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 I also looked into this, I wanted my headset to function on my front panel jacks of my PC and my IL2 sound out my 5-1 soundblaster. Quote
Shadow Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 The easiest solution is a USB headset. It can be a real PITA to setup two soundcards, or a BIOS nightmare to enable onboard sound with a sound card running. USB headsets can be gotten for relatively little money or way the gosh (bless me frior) too much. Quote
1. DDz Quorum B16Enk Posted November 4, 2006 1. DDz Quorum Posted November 4, 2006 AFAIK that would require the use of two soundcards, IL2 routed through the better one and TS through the other. Practically speaking I am not sure it is possible though. This is why many use USB headsets that have their own virtual sound card, again I have never actually tried it... Quote
BBloke Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 I heard and always thought that USB sound anything may impede FPS on the game as it takes CPU Cycles to generate the sound! Just my 2 cents! Quote
Shadow Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Hi BBloke I would think the opposite. USB headsets have their own DSP, basically their own sound card, attached. Quote
Sunflower Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 Another way to go is to grab an old computer from a closet and put TS on it and hook it up through a router. Quote
