Hi guys, following a chat on comms yesterday (mon) A few of us, myself, Jedi, Arthur and time permitting Bongodriver are planning to go on an online together and have a bash on one of the Clod public servers.

This is just a heads up in case anyone else fancies joining in a bit of Clod Dogz action, the more the merrier.

Wed night evening GMT.

I can if requested hold a minor seminar on the basics if anyone is interested. I can hardly profess to be a an expert, I can however teach the basic engine operations and all the little things.

We have a tutorials application, anything that could go in writing Jedi?

I could try. I'll take a swing at it this weekend.

Can we get a list of things people want to know?

We'll be flying whatever the server demands Asus. The most populated ones are full-real as in no externals, no icons and full CEM. However, it ain't that difficult m8 :thumbsu: Join us on Wednesday and we'll get you going. Just make sure you've assigned controls for radiator, prop pitch, mixture and prop pitch automation.

The Repka Steppe server gets my vote. They've made a really nice script for the a.i. which gives plenty of bomber intercept and escort for both sides, action at a decent height and the Steppe map gives good opportunities to form up, work out tactics for attack or defence and strafe a few of the buggers on the way home if you've got any ammo or airframe left. Good ping too.

The other alternative is the ATAG channel map which is so-so at the moment (my opinion entirely). Bomber groups are less frequent which means harder to find on the large map so people fly lower which is just daft. At low level this sim performs and looks poorest. I've been on this server several times with some thirty other people, crossed the channel at three to four thousand metres, seen no one, come down to five hundred metres and found all the action over Hawkinge or Calais-Marck only. Given the choice to climb and search for sometimes phantom dots or vulch at fifty feet and lots of people seem to choose the latter all the time.

I have the capability of hosting a server for the training part, and perhaps a few missions if you so wish, but a dogz outing on a public server would be fun.

HUMMMMM.... dunno Arthur. I'll will delay u guys quite a lot, cause of the explanations and all. I never fly COD in full CEM, and i will spend to much time trying to get control of the aricraft, and the radiator and mixture and looking at the gauges, provinding dat i will get the craft on the air...lol.

I think i'll pass this one. But some lessons from u or jed or some else's, dat can handle the CEM would be nice. i'm gonna do my part, try to fly full CEM off line, and see if i get the hand of it., to be more easy when u gents pass your expertise.

thx for the hints :thumbsu:

IMHO if you have the basic controls assigned (throtte, joystick, etc..) and can get up in the air that is all you need to fly online. I may try to join if I can find time this afternoon...

Asas, remember how much you learned when you first went online with me and the dogz? Yes you crash and make mistakes, but you learn a lot more that alone, and nobody really cares. If you are one more easy target for them they are usually happy. :laughing7:

Good fun. It is getting there, however the multiplayer GUI is slightly annoying, and the small issues that crop up can become quite the nuissance.

Yes, thanks for hosting Jedi. Now I know what I need to work on.. Not burning out my engine.. One step at a time.
