2. Administrators fruitbat Posted July 22, 2010 2. Administrators Posted July 22, 2010 must make more effort to get into this game, i look forward to reading more here Quote
DD_Brando Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 I have tried like crazy to make a profile for my adapted CH setup, but everytime I think I've got it right the game just seems to reject it. It's got me so pissed off that I haven't persevered, and RoF just sits in my hard drive. Hopefully I'll be able to program the FrankenForce that I'm constructing now. That said, with the Logitech PCB controlling X & Y with force feedback, and the buttons and trim controls and throttle coming from CH logic boards, I'm not holding my breath. A pity really, as the game runs and looks beautiful on my quad-core rig - but it's all crap if you can't get the HOTAS to work the same way every time. B Quote
Zooly Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 I have tried online play but the game plays very differently to Il2 and the people who do play tend to be pretty good at flying antiques. Quote
Snacko Posted July 22, 2010 Author Posted July 22, 2010 That's one of the benefits of flying with a squad Zooly. They will help each other and make it more fun I think. Then as you get better you can have a better chance in a open server. Quote

B Brando, I use a Leo Bodnar board to plug my axis and buttons into for a custom simpit. You might look into that rather than trying to mate two different systems together...every time I try something like that it ends in tears....mine. lol. http://www.leobodnar.com/products/BU0836X/ If all else fails, join us (WarHawks) for a Monday night game on our TS3 server and one of several people might be able to help you out. MadTrooper Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Here you go all you Rise of Flight Fans! A board for all your stuff. Snack HI Snacko, Thank you very much for opening up a board for ROF. I'm sure that it will fill rather quickly with all sorts of goodies and stuff and most importantly, we're going help each other in flying that great sim. Thanks again. MT Quote

HI Zooly, your right. It is a little different from flying IL2 and there are a lot to be learned in order to fly these early planes properly. All it takes is a little practice and putting into practice tips that you have learned when flying with more experienced pilots. I was flying with such guys last Monday night, on the WARHAWKS full switch server and I have learned a great deal. I hope I'll see you there next monday night. MT Quote

ROF just seems to be counterintuitive at most every step, even for tech savvy guys. It took a bucket load of sticktuitiveness for me to even set up the demo, so I'm quite sure your not having fun with the frankenstick. All I can say is that the game has come a long way and is really nice once you get through all the bullshit. Quote

I am sure that we can get configuration/setup glitches worked out. I have experience with FrankenHardware and several others in the group I fly with have CH/Siatek hardware experience. We have, collectively, had very little trouble running Rise of Flight, we would be happy to help if we can. David Edit: By the way, an excellent source of technical information for Rise of Flight is the SimHQ forum for the game. There are usually anywhere from 40-100 users accessing that forum at any given time. There are hundreds of threads with information on the game, how to get it to work better, skins, etc. The U.S. publisher (they have now purchased Rise of Flight from Neoqb, 777, makes all their posts about updates and new info on those forums. http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/forums/113/1/Rise_of_Flight_The_First_Great.html Quote

I have uninstalled that game a number of times and come back for more pain, I finally have it playable but I know I have much to learn Quote
PropNut Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Hey AP, perhaps tomorrow night we can get online early and try to help you out? I am by no means an expert (nor really well experienced) but I am willing to try. I am sure MT is also. We should have several WarHawk members joining in tomorrow night that are much more experienced than I as well. You might also join the Warhawks on Monday nights for their/our (I am also a member there) Rise of Flight Co-op night. Quote
