GreyKnight Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 I liked his 'hand-brake turn' at the end. Quote
Blairgowrie Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 I don't think he was drunk. That was an incredible display of flying. Quote
GreyKnight Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Good job we've got your vast years of experience BG... to point out the bloody obvious! Quote
Blairgowrie Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 I'll guarantee it will not be obvious to everyone. It certainly wasn't to the Ubi Zooers where this was posted. Quote
JensenPark Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 it does seems rather staged and all... Quote
BadAim Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 My Lawyer advises me to refrain from commenting on the aforementioned alleged incident as there are still some legal issues to sort out. Quote
GreyKnight Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 So you're telling me that some I'll guarantee it will not be obvious to everyone. It certainly wasn't to the Ubi Zooers where this was posted. WOW! I need to meet these people and sell them some glass hammers, tartan paint & left-handed screwdrivers at $99/£99/€99 each. Quote
Catalyst Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 This guy performed at the last airshow I went to at Seymour Johnson AFB... very cool display that guy does things in a Piper Cub that I didn't know were possible. Quote
JensenPark Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 If they really wanted to have fun, they'd dress him up as a jihadist and not a redneck before he 'stole' the plane. Quote
Kimosabi Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 I laughed my ass off! What a great pilot. Quote
DrPepper Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 That must be one light plane... I bet the kids in the audience totally believed it was just some dude that jumped in.... Quote
Jediteo Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 I wish I could fly like that, always wanted to go up in a Cub, perhaps the quintessential "airplane". Quote
Perfesser Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 After the first 30 sec it's pretty obvious the guy is a pro. A lucky guy might get away with one wing scrape without loosing it but by the third time ........... Another master. Bob Hoover and maybe some good advice for our daredevil pilot. http://www.livevideo.com/media/commentmedia.aspx?cid=9BC3F865EB534C7D9F6FF500498D15F2 Quote
Blairgowrie Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 I wish I could fly like that, always wanted to go up in a Cub, perhaps the quintessential "airplane". When I left the Advertising Agency I worked for in the late 1960's, my going away gift was 10 hours flying time at the Belleville Flying Club in a Super Cub. A great plane, easy to fly and a tail dragger. Also, it was certified for aerobatics so you could do a full spin. I was so into flying then I almost wound up in Vietnam flying for the US Army/Airforce. Quote
Jediteo Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Really? I though airforces were very hard on only allowing citizens of their countries to fly. Few nations are interested in lending a foreigner a really expensive piece of kit with explosives strapped to it, unless said nation is French. Quote
DD_Bucky Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 I've seen this type of thing before at airshows.Wonderfully entertaing, and a great showcase of pilot skill.....not unlike my style of flying during JO BFS training....or flying with the DDz,....or just plain IL2 stuff in general... Thankz for sharing,BG. Quote

Blairgowrie Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 The recruitment office in Buffalo, New York pretty well told me what Tribunus has said. I would have to be a officer to fly and to be an officer, I would have to get US citizenship. In the meantime, they would be happy to take me as a gunner in a helicopter. Not quite what I had in mind. Quote
