Snacko Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 I just installed Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit and the Catalyst 9.11 which their site says is for Windows 7 64 bit. Quote
2. Administrators Jabo Posted November 22, 2009 2. Administrators Posted November 22, 2009 Looks like a driver issue to me. Try uninstalling the current one and using a recent Vista driver instead. Failing that try an XP one. Quote
Perfesser Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 Just check that your desktop settings for text size is set to default or 100%. Right click on desktop, screen resolution, "make text and other items larger or smaller" When I exit to desktop in game the resolution is the same as the game and some icons aren't visible, I though I could work around that by changing the above setting. Didn't take effect till reboot (by then I forgot I did it) and all kinds of strange things happened to Freetrack display, some of it looked like that. Took a while to figure out. Quote
Snacko Posted November 22, 2009 Author Posted November 22, 2009 Yea, it's already set to Smaller which it says is 100%. Quote
Snacko Posted November 23, 2009 Author Posted November 23, 2009 Well, I just tried to install the 64bit 9.10 Cats and the installer said it was designed for Windows XP/2000 and cannot be installed. Quote
Snacko Posted November 23, 2009 Author Posted November 23, 2009 Well, FYI for anybody else who may have this problem. I told the AMD ATI Support site that I was running Vista 64bit and then there was a link at the bottom of the 9.11 (current) download page for Previous Drivers. Quote
1. DDz Quorum B16Enk Posted November 23, 2009 1. DDz Quorum Posted November 23, 2009 One thing is for sure, with Win 7 you must install drivers with Admin privs by right clicking and running as administrator, otherwise some kooky stuff can happen. Found this with the original 7 ATI drivers. (to be fair 7 has pretty good drivers already installed as ATI themselves admit albeit without the control panel). Quote
Snacko Posted November 23, 2009 Author Posted November 23, 2009 Darn, I don't think I did that. Quote
