I think it's at least an accurate portrayal of the trappings of authority, and the arrogance that can come with it.

I got searched for drugs once, in the street, by a uniformed copper. I had a stinking cold at the time and I had a used Kleenex in my pocket, neatly folded - waiting until I found a litter bin to chuck it into. Anyway, I left it in my pocket and showed him the rest of the items I had on me.

"Is that everything?" he says, patting me down.

"Everything you want to see" says I.

"There's something here" says he.

"You don't want to see that......", but it's too late. 30 seconds later he's deep into a ten-quid-wrap of snot.

I'm glad I'm not a copper. There's something about always suspecting that changes a person.
