Blairgowrie Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 I sure hope they get it right this time. No seriously, they will have to go some to beat the original. I just loved that movie when it first came out and some of you were just a gleam in someone's eye. Quote
DoubleTap Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Based on Jackson's previous work, I think the thing is in good. Besides the technical skill, I think Jackson "gets it" as far as the war itself and the men who flew the missions. I just thank GOD! George Lucas is going anywhere near it... Quote
Enforcer57 Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Yeah, as long as they leave Ben Afleck and that romance crap out, it should be incredible. Gonna have a hard time filling Richard Todd's shoes. Quote
JensenPark Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Maybe they could have Ben as Tom Cruise's love interest. Ewwwww.... Quote

I meant to say NOT going near it. Quote

JensenPark Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 You got it right...Lanc is the best! Maybe if the movie is a hit, it'll convince Oleg to put it in some SoW add on... Quote
DoubleTap Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 And your point Mr. Doubletap is? Uhhhh, humor?!? :? Quote
BBloke Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 Seriously, do you think they will change the name of the dog for PC sake? Quote
DoubleTap Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 Seriously, do you think they will change the name of the dog for PC sake? Yep. Quote
Blairgowrie Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 And your point Mr. Doubletap is? Uhhhh, humor?!? :? Ah that's ok then. I thought you were bashing us Brit's Hold on....... I am not a Brit, I am Canadian. Continue bashing and it was very funny. Quote
Blairgowrie Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 Do you really think the movie would suffer if they just left the dog out and saved themselves a pile of grief? Quote

I am not a Brit, I am Canadian. Continue bashing and it was very funny. Sorry, it was not intended to a bash, but a humorous retort to the Painless's suggestion that the B-17 was not, in fact, the Mos Def piece of heavy bomberage from the war. However, I see how maybe people might take it the wrong way, and I would not want anyone to think I intended insult. I will delete it. Quote
Blairgowrie Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 No Glenn, please don't delete it. I was just trying to be humorous too. Anyone who could take offense at that doesn't belong in the Danger Dogz. Honestly it was very funny. Quote

Yeah, I know we all have a good and easy-going sense of humor here, which is great, and people can be too sensitive about things. At the same time, it can get out of hand, or things don't translate as intended. Good-natured teasing is one thing, but it can drift into having an edge. Anyway, I would feel terrible to give offense when none was intended. Quote
JensenPark Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 Your not offending me is offensive to me. But wait, then it is offending me - but...oh damn - I'm stuck in a mobius circle of stupidity again. Quote
BBloke Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 Excuse my stupidity on this one but I take it that it doesn't relate to the dog thing. I would prefer it to stay in though.. kinda said when you heard the squeal of the truck brakes and no more dog.... It just wells me up inside Quote
1. DDz Quorum B16Enk Posted September 2, 2006 1. DDz Quorum Posted September 2, 2006 Bugger. Looks like I missed out on some classic k9 humour then. I can kind of guess the tilt off it as I do recall the dogs name...and know that Glenn would have had some amazing quip lined up. Not sure how the Brit bit fits in. Ergo I am now deeply offended that I have not shared an obviously very humorous and notable missive from our Propaganda Officer. *stomps off* I demand a re-instatement of the post Quote
1. DDz Quorum Painless Posted September 3, 2006 1. DDz Quorum Posted September 3, 2006 ~S~ I got it !! LOL BTW, the dogs name has already been dubbed to "Trigger" for TV purposes chaps !! ~S~ Painless Quote
JensenPark Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 I would simply change the name from "Nigger" to something less offensive. Like "Cunt" maybe. Quote
BBloke Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 @Painless: Really.. last time I saw it on TV it was the original. I'm sure it wasn't all that long ago. LMAO @ jens... priceless Quote
