Blairgowrie Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Posted on Ubi Zoo today. Does this turn your crank? http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/5218/spit1vu6.jpg http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/6698 ... bleor9.jpg Quote
Streak Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Not only did it turn my crank, but I think I formed a little wet spot. Quote
Klinger Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 I hope when it arrives it is the version with the cut down rear fusalage and the bubble canopy. Surely the best looking Spit ever. Quote

GreyKnight Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Well if it looks like the one Kling showed, it's not going to get very far, since it ain't got no propellors! Quote
Klinger Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 I reckon Spit pilots are in for a slightly different experience with the Mk 14. From the accounts I've read, it handled more like a P51 with a better rate of climb. The prop also spins the other way, so the swing on take off is different. This caught out a few experienced wartime Spit pilots. Quote
T_O_A_D Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 No, but it helped me find it, so I could manually turn it myself. Quote
Enforcer57 Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Somebody already made a bubble canopy merlin spit, from what Ive seen (wip i think), so I expect theree will be both vrsions. There were a bunch of griffon engine spits though, and don't even get me started about the Seafires........like the mk47 with contra rotating props. Ill shut up now. Quote
