F6 goes to external view with padlock nearest enemy - by pressing it you have your own radar to prevent anyone from sneaking up on you- not very realistic and totally kills any chance of using proper tactics

Yes, that is listed, but that is incorrect. I meant to turn map icons off. There will be in-flight icons for other aircraft, but they will adjusted to reveal less information than standard. Thank you for pointing that out. I will fix it.

I don't do many landings either - I'm usually a crater over the target area.

thing to remember: long approach - slow speed just above stalling (150 to 180k depending on the plane) - use the landing flaps

These are the in flight Icon settings we will use today. They are the same as the Malta FBD map we have flown and they seem to work well. Numbers represent Km. I know everyone has their own preference for these settings, but we are going to try these for today. Friendly icons have much more range to simulate Air Command coordination.
