I have had good service from an HP DVD writer 640C and a Sony DVD RW DW-Q30A

These days most support all formats (+/- and RAM) but really it is only the +/- that is needed.

Prices are low too, as BlueRay etc. is on the horizon in quantities.

I don't know how big your town is, but up here in Toronto you can get a refurbished DVD burner for less than a new DVD ROM!

I purchased an AOPEN DUW1608/ARR
