Blairgowrie Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 Very impressive Oldtimer! And I had you down as an Austin mini man. Quote
Oldtimer Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 Very impressive Oldtimer! And I had you down as an Austin mini man. Nah! Diehard petrolhead, that's me. Quote
Rattler Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 I'll add to the recent pics... The family and I went on a helo ride with an old army buddy of mine. Click me... Quote
Fireman Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 my wifey got me a 1 hour flight with a local helo company for x-mas that I have yet to take. Quote
Oldtimer Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 Hi Rattler, nice vid. This is you, right? Quote
Rattler Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 No, OT, I was taking pics over my shoulder. That's my buddy, Steven, the pilot. Long-hair, hippie these days, and Japanese-Irish (yup, really!!) I just got a regular headset to wear, not the Darth Vader/fighter-jock helmet. Quote
Strider Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 ~S~ Gents! Newbie to the Dogz but know several of you from other places. Glad to see some other pot-bangers here. Did someone say fishing? Me on the right with happy client after a brilliant win in Parking Violation Court. Looking forward to flying with you m8's! ~S~ and Cheers! Strider Quote
JensenPark Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 you've got it all covered Strider: in a band like several other Dogz fishing like several other Dogz And it appears you are a lawyer as well, like Cold_Gambler (there may be others, but few would admit it) I notice the Labatts/Molson banners...a good Canuck. Quote
Strider Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 ~S~ JP! Thanks for the kind words (and resisting the lawyer bashing). Actually, I collect lawyer jokes---some of the biggest ....heads I've met in r/l though most are fine people like us...LOL. I play in several bands, mostly as a fill-in, and jam groups because I like the variety of musicians and styles of music available. I rehearse weekly with a regular group and try to practice 1/week to keep my chops up. I've played gigs in duos up to a 22 piece swing band. I once auditioned for Edward Bear (get your history book out---they did "You and Me and Mexico"). Probably the most notable I played for was Tommy Common of old CBC fame. My group Solid Fuel opened last September at a Rosetta Stone Reunion Fest (Ian Mitchell's successor band to the Bay City Rollers). Refuse to travel tour on the road because it would kill my practice---I have cases booked in Feb. & March, 2009 already---what delay in the courts? LOL I still shoot a mean game of 8-Ball, 9-Ball, Snooker or English Billiards but the eyes aren't what they used to be Quote
Rattler Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 Hmmmmm.....Strider and Hume Cronyn, who strangely hails from London, Ontario...... Quote
Rico Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 Since we're sharing, here's a few of myself. Quote

JensenPark Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 Let's go back in time and see how this really happened You t'ink dat's scary, mang? Quote
Rico Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 Yeah, but it doesn't sound quite so psychotic when he spins it like it's just something he heard about. Quote
Streak Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 I got to spend part of the weekend hiding underground again. Thought I'd post-up a few select pics. This stope with its low ceiling is definitely not for the claustrophobic. But this on carved out in the 1800's is huge with lots of room to move around. The ore-body ran at a steep angle & it was fun exploring to the bottom. Then you turn around & realize you've got to climb that steeply inclined track back up. Back at the main level, I took a shot looking at the stope as it continues above the tunnel we entered through. Warning: Below are pics of my mug. I found an engine to haul out the ore-cars I filled up. Unfortunately the batteries have been dead for many, many, years dagnabit! BTW, the group decided to leave me behind to support this collapsing beam & my arms are getting really frig'n tired. Don't suppose anyone wants to step in & take my place? Quote
