  1. Now that I have my upgraded pit pretty much done hardware wise I am turning my attention on making up the button templates and HOTAS configuration for FC3. I figured I would focus on the F-15 right now. If anyone has any suggestions for which key binds are the most important and a HOTAS layout for the Warthog I would appreciate hearing what you have to say (I really do like to get other peoples ideas while making my decisions).

Here is the pit running DCS FC3 F15 while using Helios to extract a number of gauges to a second monitor.

  2. I had FC2 all tricked out with mods and it looked pretty sweet before I got FC3 on sale (and have yet to fly it). So when you get one make sure you look up some mods for it.

Oh and don't quote me but I believe you also need FC Lockon installed to be able to install FC2. Also FC2 has a limited number of installs (unless you properly un-install it). That is from what I remember

  3. Personally I use Xpadder for my needs. Mostly because I have a lot of other controllers I deal with and it works well and has a very small footprint. I also like the AutoProfiler so it automatically sets all the controller binds for each game.

Target also seemed like using Reverse Polish notation to do things. Maybe I just didn't use it long enough and I had already been using Xpadder.

  4. Personally I would think the throttle would be the first thing to go. I have a CH throttle way back in the day and it really does not have enough functions for me. The X52 Pro throttle was nice but the stick had a huge deadzone issue. I almost went with a CH Fighterstick and X52 throttle combo right before my wife bought me the Warthog as a retirement gift.
