  1. Ok chaps, here's one for you. I'm pulling my hair out! My broadband is supplied by BT and I get a consistent connection speed of about 6Mbps. Recently i've noticed my PC seems to struggle on this connection, but all other devices on the network seem to be fine, (2x iPhones, iPad, Mac and MacBook - which are all wireless) I hardwired my PC to the router many months ago after constant headaches connecting over wifi. A Gigabit Netgear Powerline system did the job. Now this is the issue: I can ping (command through cmd) any website and get a nice, constant speedy return of around 50ms, no bother. But, I'm finding browsing the web painfully slow, and you can almost forget about streaming video, YouTube just fails to buffer a lot of the time. Tried using both Chrome and Firefox, both equally slow. Now tonight, for the first time in a while I connected to TS anticipating a fun night flying the North Africa campaign, but Teamspeak just went FUBAR. I'd initially connect with a ping of about 50ms, but this would rapidly increase to 500+ also with a stated +-500ms variation. WTF? The netgear utility confirms the connection to the router is running at about 385Mbps, so it's not the Poweline. I've not installed any new programs, it's virus free and to be honest it's probably only been turned on a couple of times since I flew last about a fortnight ago when all was well. I'm stumped.

  9. Is this the bus stop? Do I live here? Can i read your newspaper? Fig jam on crackers deep fried in lard with a sprinkling of Andrews salts.
  10. Bloody brilliant wasn't it?! Well done BBC and the bros. MacGregor. They weren't afraid to tackle the controversies and I think did justice to those fine men of bomber command. Some of the aerial footage was simply breathtaking. Almost as good as a coastguard islander ;-)
  11. Following on from the wonderful documentary Ewan and his brother Colin (exRAF pilot) MacGregor made for the BBC about Spitfire pilot training during the BofB, this time round it's all about the lovely Lancaster. BBC1 9pm Sunday 5th Feb http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01byv2g Preview here:
  12. Phew! Well done that man! :applaud:
  13. It's difficult to imagine being in that situation, with the lives most of us are fortunate to live these days. Though, i would probably do the same too. He must have experienced a level of anger, outrage and disgust that I hope none of us ever will.
  14. Was there much difference in the late P-51D compared to the Korean war F-51Ds?I think you'll find Fenrir will probably correct us both on this one Nick ;-)
  15. I LOVE LAMP!
  16. Wow! I need Lego back in my life
  17. Just to reinforce my comment about the press sensationalising things, the following link should explain the situation more clearly as there photos.I don't think I'd want to climb around a Spitfire that's in the middle of restoration with an empty cockpit area. Personally I think the museum did the right thing.Click here Remember there are two sides to every story and the truth is usually somewhere in between.
  18. No worries Leon. We never leave a dog behind...
  19. Ken Wallis, what a legend. I'd love to visit his workshop! In response to the Hercules video, how about this crazy Italian C-27 Spartan at RIAT last year?
  20. Err... My Scalextric looks like a snail compared to this: http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=538_1326404901
  21. I believe radium is used on the instruments and is of serious enough concern to collectors and warbirds operators, extra paperwork etc due to health risks. Although, I can't see how this was an issue unless there was a damaged gauge in the cockpit? Also, as a Spitfire pilot sits on his 'chute, perhaps they deemed the bucket of the seat inadequate for a chap of his age without a cushion available? Remember, don't believe everything the sensationalist rags say!
  22. 1. My oldie is in fact a mash-up of two oldies, is that allowed? Actually, It's too good not to post. Enjoy the fusion of two of the greatest rock/metal bands: 2. Now the new one. Another fusion, this time of genres. It's relatively new to me and it's a new-ish song that will polarize opinion i'm sure! Dubstep is like the 'marmite' music right now, personally it's a bit of a guilty pleasure. This I believe is Skrillex's second track with Korn, and fuses their nu-metal sound with dubstep. It's not for the faint hearted :
  23. What Mr Jabo said.In fact I may have a spare bed going as it goes.
  24. Another thing that made me laugh... Keith (Casper) Talbot was also present on this Lyneham camp, and ever the 'heart-throb' he'd set his sights on a particular female cadet from the rival school. She didn't go much on him yakking into a bag that's for sure! Also, cracking video Arthur old chap! Oh, I really need to get gliding again!
