Been flying the Spitty, absolute joy to fly, essentially 3 flavours, Mk IXe LF (merlin 66) Mk IXe LF clipped wing Mk IXe HF (merlin 70) Although you could make a Mk IXe HF clipped wing, the way modifications work, not sure that was ever actually a thing though. I know there was a fairly rare mod to add to the wing of the high altitude spits, which did the almost unachievable act of making a spit fugly, so taking some off of high altitude spits seems unlikely. Since its bank holiday and i'm feeling exceptionally lazy as i type, i can't be bothered to check in my copy of spitfire the history no more than six feet away.... The Gyro gunsight is a thing of beauty, and actually feels like cheating a bit, no wonder it was nicknamed the ace maker! 50's hit hard in this game to, so the 2 in the e wing are easily good enough to down fighters on there own if needs be.

Broke down and pre ordered earlier as there was some new toys to fly. Both planes are v nice...

Here is a screenie of my installed mods for BoX , that I am using and give my seal of approval for.... I'll up-date this as and when new stuff or improved versions thereof become available. On some maps (winter generally) I prefer the old sky mod, and the Moscow summer replacement for the Moscow autumn map is purely aesthetical but i much prefer its look over the standard textures.

Lol, just downloaded and finished installing. About to fire it up.

I'm tentatively researching some stuff, although mainly with the idea for co-op missions. Really waiting for 3.0 to drop, i'm hoping it will be possible to rip missions from the new single player mission stuff, and convert them into the new co-op mode. And of course to then tweak settings etc as to the dogz requirements.

The hit on the wallet was not small at all unfortunately, but after having it for just over a year, I'm very very happy I did decide to push the boat out. 1080p just looks so blocky You need a 980 to run 4k (or two 970's). When I got mine in dec 2014 the 980 had only just come out, if I was getting now I'd buy a 980ti. I did think about getting the 32inch until I saw the price, when I bought my 28inch, the 32inch was £1600, screw that! Good thing about having a card that can run 4k, is that it will be able to do VR as well, I'm hearing that they're saying a 980 recommended as min for VR as well.....
