one more thing; mklink works only on ntfs partitions!

def action for mklink is for file. so if u use let say mklink c:\conf.ini d:\conf.ini without extra parameters it should work.

i'm not sure if this is a good title to this but here is what i'm trying to do. i'm not the expert in the IL2 folder structure so if i'm wrong please correct me. there are some folders that are the same across all versions of the IL2 (moded or not). like users, records, Paintschemes, missions, conf.ini file, ... well they r not the same but they could be shared across the various installs. for example the Users folder. every time i make a new copy of the game i need to replace the users folder with the one that contains my current settings. or if i make a change in my configuration i need to copy Users folder over all the installs i have. what i want to do is make a some kind of link in all of the installs that would point to one place. in unix systems that's called symlink. creating a shortcut in windows is not the same. double-click will follow the shortcut but if u replace let say Users folders with shortcut the game is not going to follow it and u'll have to create new pilot with new settings. symlinks used in unix in other hand are readable by the system and the system can follow them. for example in windows if you move Program Files folder to a different disk programs installed in it are not going to work any more cause Program Files directory is not where it should be. If u create a shortcut pointing to a new location of the Program Files it is not going to work. But there is one thing in windows 2000 and newer that is called Junction that acts like symlink in Unix. so if u in the place where Program Files used to be create symlink called Program Files and point it to moved Program Files folder everything will work fine. more info can be found here and here. so this is what i'm going to do and test: - copy my users folder, paintschemes, missions, and conf.ini file to a one central place - rename the files and folders mentioned in all my installs and replace them with junctions to a files and folders in the new location. - test how it works off course it would be good to rearrange missions folder so that i always know what mission is for what game version. now this post definitely stretches my English capabilities so if something sounds weird be free and correct me.

Hi Foto and welcome back. your IL2 is probably installed in Program Files x86 (or something like that) folder. the best thing here would be to copy (not move!) whole IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 folder from mentioned Program Files folder to the root of drive C:. after u have done that run the update and point it to that new copy of the game. also ones u copied the game from Program files to root of the C: you can go to control panell and uninstall the original game. off course your copy of the game is the one that u'll run from now on. ones the copy is updated to 4.09m i would recommend to make one more copy of that updated copy and put it somewhere safe. so u always have a clean 4.09m if u screw something up while installing all the fekin mods

here in Zagreb yesterday we had first snow this year. right now temperatures are between -3 and -9. Nothing unusual for last 10-15 years. Before that we usually had snow much earlier and much lower temperatures. i can remember years when we wad -20 C.

All the thanks goes to BG cause he did actually all the job. i just went to their site and throw a glove in their face for me it was very good while it lasted. i had absolutely no issues with warping (except the fact that i could not hit the target that was moving around with the speed of light) i have no idea why was so bad for them. we have Trib and Ovy that are way further then 102nd and they do not have such a problem. and it is not a first time we have 30+ flayers. their 102nd server is well known on HL we could try again on their server.

i would prefer Coop that is based in europe somewhere between 1940 and 1942. if u do not have such coop then it does not matter. but u have to know that we r going to switch side so coop needs to be well balanced. I'll come to TS tonight little earlier and we can discuss this if it's OK with you

hmm... i guess u forgot that i'm from Croatia (ex Yugoslavia) who practically invented Partisan-ism http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Partisan_%28military%29 even a great soviet army in WWII was Partisans only in the begining. later they grow in to a real army but kept the name. same thing happened in ex Yugoslavia now is that enough or you want more

i think that JP has mixed two different things. SAS, are special forces. Partisans are regular army that is not equipped enough for direct war and fights in certain way (ambushes, diversions and other indirect way of fighting). german's did have special forces. do not recall exact name but was something mountain paratroopers with some mountain flower as a trademark.
