Wonderful shots Kev. How far out were you from the event horizon here?
  2. Ouch, sorry to hear about that Kira Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I'm not a big fan of trucks in general, but that is a very nice model. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. A good joystick does not a whizzy sim-pilot make...Although what it will do for someone who's already good...
  5. I'm out Rog. I believe Gec already has a buyer for the HOTAS lined up but I don't know about the pedals Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I'm interested, let me check the piggy bank
  7. Welcome to the pound Meaker - we've been noticing the 615th around the place so it's great that you've decided to stop by and introduce yourself. Pull up a kennel. ~S~ Jabo P.S. Although it says 'Administrators' over to the left - I'm not in charge either.

    Two For Jabo

Ha ha, thanks Kira - I've had that avatar for what seems like aeons. It seemed appropriate given the Dogz and it tends to turn up now wherever the Jabo username does...

    Pc Power Usage

Good, good. Incidentally that big fan under your PSU will an intake not an exhaust (unless it's different to 99.99% of the other psu's on the market). Seriously - do not worry about this and don't start cutting holes in your case. As far as anti-static protection is concerned, it's not not really too much of an issue these days. A really simple way to ground yourself is to touch the case chassis before touching the board or components, Simple and effective (or at least, it's what I do and I've yet to destroy anything via esd - I built my first PC 20-odd years ago). If you really want a strap I can send you one (I keep two in my computer toolbox in case a customer gets funny about it - lol) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Pc Power Usage

I've done a bit of reading and it appears that unless you're using a laptop, the software requires the use of an additional piece of equipment in order calibrate itself correctly. If you haven't done that, I would take any indications from the software with a hefty pinch of salt because any conclusion arrived at via potentially flawed data is itself highly suspect. Joulemeter eh? I'm intrigued but I don't see how a piece of software running on your computer would have the foggiest about the power usage of the monitor which doesn't run off your PSU in any case.. People tend to overestimate how much power they need but that said I'd probably say that something in the 650-750w range would be about right. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Nice vid Arthur, perhaps I'll hang on a bit before asking for my money back. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. You're really not going to see 2% difference between the two monitors so I'd go for the larger one on principle - especially given the price difference.

    Lancaster Movie

    Great film that, thanks Sid
  15. In that case it's a CloD 'feature'
  16. That's looking good Kira - now go push the damn button. (just kidding) Re: Win8/8.1 - can't really say much about this due to lack of experience, but what I have seen I didn't like much. I don't see much point in my migrating to it now with Win 10 on the horizon and Win 7 working well for me but Kira - you should go for whatever you prefer. Just make sure you go for the 64-bit variant of whichever OS you decide to use.
  17. None of the current graphics cards have rear fans Kira, they may have a grille where some of the air moving sideways off the fan will be blown - and the card will be mounted on the mobo with the fan side facing downwards not upwards. This is standard practice. The fact that the 960 doesn't have a grille doesn't necessarily pose a problem - the 900 series runs cooler than the earlier series cards due to lower power consumption (if I've understood things correctly) and therefore may not need the rear grille. What this means in practice is that you get a whole bunch of extra connectors on the back of the card.
  18. oooo, good idea Arthur
  19. I think you're developing a bit of a habit there FT!
