Sorry Sid, there's just too much going on to be able to commit as much as I'd like. There's a whole raft of RL issues which conspire to use up my available time, energy and resources to the point where I just lose the urge to drag all the gear out and get set up to fly - in fact, the last time I picked up a joystick was when you and I spent a couple of hours in MSFS a month ago and before that, I can't even remember. Even the rig is in bits at the moment as I had started to do some upgrades which didn't happen and I've not even put the bloody thing back together - the parts are under a dustsheet here in a corner of the office as I speak. That said, the Dogz have been a central part of my life since that chance meeting in the Red Lion back in 2006 so I will do my best to get back involved again. N

So where do you guys get the addons for the game? I've found a couple of sites but any recommendations?

So, I have a bit of a bonus coming in this month, so I'm thinking about buying this - question is, which version to go for - is it better to buy the top-tier version or to buy the base version and put the difference into buying some add-ons (planes, scenery etc). Thoughts?

It is with considerable regret that the 402nd reports the death of Lt Roger Over in combat earlier today. Badly damaged by an unseen attacker, the aircraft went in vertically without the unfortunate pilot being able to regain control or bail out. His next of kin have been notified by the War Office. His replacement, 2nd Lt Hugh Jampton, has been notified of his new posting and should arrive at the front by Sunday.

Hopefully I will be in but work calls I'm afraid.

Agreed Arthur, Steam over the Microsoft store every time. I bought Forza Horizons 4 through the store and with all the addons that's about 150GB of disk space. Problem is that if you (for example) upgrade to Windows 11, the store loses the link to the software so you have to download it all again - oh, and you can't remove the original install cos it's protected so you have to have that game on it's own partition and format that partition ready for the new download. Downgrading back to windows 10, reinstallation of operating systems all cause the same error. Microsoft's official position on this is 'meh - we have your money'. Steam on the other hand, while it's a bit janky, has no problem with any of this. A quick check of the game data files, download any updates and you're set. MS should take note.
