    Help

Hi Lothar, Glad to hear you're on your way back to the pound. We're still flying AAA 1.1 for the time being, although AAA 1.2 is now out (you can find this in the Vault) which some of us have while others don't, so no hurry for that at present. Jim is using 4.09 final for his ubizoo session on Saturdays. You'll need separate installs for 4.09 and AAA 1.1 though as they're not cross-compatible. Jabo Jabo

    Odd...

...not a problem exactly, but for about the last month everytime I start up my rig, it POSTs twice i.e I get the BIOS splash screen and the single short beep (which I believe denotes POST complete with no errors), at which point my monitor goes to sleep and the PC restarts, but this time boots up into Windows. Any ideas? Jabo
  3. Well, I'll be turning up shortly before 19:00 Zulu, so I guess I'll either be early, on time, or alone

  5. Very pretty, but only two flyable aircraft? Pffft. At least FT will be happy.
  6. I kinda like the Chickeny...ness title in the last one, especially as KFC scores lowest
  7. Downloading now Rog, I'll grab a fresh 1.1 install and try in a bit. Jabo Seems good, filesize is correct, going for an install now Good install achieved - looks like problem solved m8
  8. I'd forgotten about that, thanks Swep.
  9. Downloaded #7 last night Rog and it's coming 4kb smaller than the preceeding 6 files - gives a premature end of file error and falls over. Fortunately thanks to OT I now have a good part 7, but I can't upload this one to the Vault.

    Oh the pain...

DVD #2 touched down this morning, again, big thanks to OT for coming to the rescue - Theme for next year's shirt ? Thanks to everyone for their support during a particularly stressful week. Jabo
  11. Two weeks - be sure
  12. So far I've got no problems with any of my kit running on 64bit Win 7 including TrackIR, and my x52pro. Even my Linksys wireless card (completely unsupported in Vista and XP 64bit) has a native driver. Support for 32 bit programs is also trouble-free. I've always had the impression that 64bit Vista and XP were something of a lash-up, but Win 7 64 bit is IMO very slick indeed. Plus you can wang more than 3.3GB of memory in and the OS can use it! I would point out that despite flying the flag for Win 7, I appreciate that it could all go to ratsh*t tomorrow. Jabo
  13. Lol, DDz in a minibus to Normandy.
  14. Sorry about this The Spanish Inquisition! Jabo
  15. I wouldn't I'm afraid. Windows 7 has been stable and trouble-free (notwithstanding drive problems) for me since the Release Client came out, and I'm very happy with the performance of IL2 and Teamspeak on the 32 and 64 bit versions. When my copy arrives, I'll be on Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit. I'll keep XP on the machine in dual-boot config in case, but the whole thing looks good to me. Jabo
  16. Random. OK, this has to stop or it'll be like the Monty Python thing all over again...

Possibly more like 'feckin mods' than Hugh's entire back catalog, but there you go. In any case, I'm giving up with it, between MB 3094 and 3097 it found and repaired over 5200 bad sectors and took nine hours to get that far. Given that there's over 150GB inaccessible on the drive and that there's other things I want to do this lifetime, I think this drive has come to the end. eBuyer have already agreed to swap it so I'll just get rid. Bah. Jabo

Lol, 0.64% and 3GB in, and I'm up to 140 bad sectors (and it claims 140 repaired) Jabo

I'll take whatever's going OT, I'm doing my best this end, but struggling Jabo P.S. Oh my, this could be a long process...I'm having a shot a regenerating the disk using this HDD Regenerator program, and while it appears to be doing the business, it might need to run for 24hrs or more before I get a result. Oh well, worth it in the long run I suppose...
  23. Rico! where you been?

    Oh the pain...

The drive spins up and some sectors are accessible while a large number of others are not. Windows 'sees' the drive but is unable to access it (tells me it needs formatting before I can use it). Using ubuntu I have managed to get the data from the accessible areas and move it to a separate drive. The inaccessible areas unfortunately encompass my entire users folder. I discussed this with a colleague who suggested that HDD Regenerator might be able to repair the inaccessible sectors so I could retrieve my data at least. I want the drive replaced in any case, as less than 12 months use is not good enough. Jabo
