    TrackIR advice

Interesting, my TIR 5 pro shuts down fine in pause mode and starts up normally next time. Must be a mismatch somewhere between the h/w and s/w Jabo
  2. I tend to steer clear of either program files folder for older software in general. New stuff seems to work OK (RoF etc). Mine's arranged as follows (Contents in brackets after drive letter) Drive 1: C:\ (Windows 7) & D:\

    TrackIR advice

I splashed out on TIR 5 earlier this year and there's no way I'd go back. Tried FreeTrack without much success, it caused me much grief with setting up and suchlike, whereas TIR worked 'straight out of the box'.
  4. I run IL2 from a separate drive without any issues, and no changes to Win 7 security either.
  5. Try amazon.co.uk m8. 133 EUR
  6. you sure m8? It looks exactly like mine
  7. Not sure about potential problems with the X52, other than some people say that the spring goes over time. Don't know how common that problem is, but I've certainly had no issues with mine and I think it's a great stick. 95 Eur seems rather a lot for a stick you can get new for about 130 though Jabo
  8. Then it's all good. Thanks m8. Jabo
  9. I suspect you've done it now m8.
  10. I'm planning staying Sunday night at the Red Lion, but if you don't want to stay the extra night, then I can get you to a suitable station on the Sunday. Jabo
  11. Good work Smash, just need to iron out those wrinkles and you'll be good to go!
  12. Sounds like a plan. Could I leave my car at your place Mick?
  13. I've been looking at the whole thing m8, and I reckon dropping you off at Luton Airport would be best, the trains from St Pancras to Nottingham stop there, and then you wouldn't need to change trains. Unless you want to go from Duxford into London and back out again.
  14. Lol, I've put the thread in the wrong place, stand by for a new link. And here it is...
  15. Yep, that could be me, I have to ensure that Jedi can get his train back up North, and that Jim and Helen get to Heathrow on time, but then I'll be heading down South to meet up with Painless and JP (and whoever else is going across to France) I can get five into the car, so that's no problem. Jabo P.S. Incidentally, the Legends Attendees thread is here. I suggest we keep this thread for Dux discussions, and just add names to the Attendees list. See my next post for link
  16. Of course - more amiable than evil when I met him though.
  17. 7 am I think - I'm pretty stuffed either way, no way I'm getting to London before 7am from here, and I can't afford to spend Wednesday night there either.
  18. Ah, that would explain it. So are you using a regular plastic cement, or some sort of cyano?
  19. Ish, except I believe some of the UK-based contingent will be joining BG and Pook in London on the Thursday only, to 'do' the IWM in Lambeth. We'll then travel en masse to Duxford Friday morning, whereupon those that wish could go round the museums and hangers at the airfield or do whatever else takes their fancy. Friday evening @ the Red Lion, followed by show on Saturday, possibly a curry Saturday night (if Jim and I can work out where the restaurant is), more beer at the RL. Recover Sunday. Take Mr & Mrs Pook back to London and Mr & Mrs BG to Heathrow Monday, and those going to Normandy keep going South! Jabo
  20. Good point, I'll check
  21. Nope, that's a 'double' room as opposed to a 'twin' room. Much as I like Jedi, I feel I have to draw the line somewhere lol.
  22. very nice m8. As a long since retired modeller, I have a question. ISTR that glues dont stick painted parts together, but I notice that the areas around the canopy (for instance) are painted. How you get things to stick to a painted surface? I'm guessing that either the glues or the paints have changed in the last 20-odd years? Jabo
  23. A bright idea the Mayor of London had a while back to charge people to drive in certain areas of the capital in an effort to reduce the congestion in the city at certain times of the day. Basically, your car gets photographed on the way into the CC zone, and this generates a charge which you pay by ringing a phone number and giving your card details. For some obscure reason, this is not a popular idea.
  24. No, the other Prince of Darkness. A certain Mr. Osbourne? And no, I don't mean George.
  25. double room - no singles available (apparently). Congestion charge is £8 per day plus 24hrs parking at £10. Will most likely book tomorrow.
